remember acrylic colors go dark once u put the monomer. If u want it lighter you have to use white acrylic as the base. thee pigments seem to be of great quality
The ratio is off. You want to try a little pigment at a time and add white to give it opacity. Add more pigment to make more vibrant. You can make pastels with the same pigments
Amanda's Gist to give it nite of a pastel look add more white and swatch it to see if you like that color. Once you are satisfied go back and add clear acrylic to balance it out ♥️
Itsanailthing you are correct. This was an old video I’m sure you have the ratio down already Natalie. I tried it mixing with my Edrill just use a carbide bit you will find it really breaks down the chunky colored pigment. The custom-made Color acrylic you’re making Will turn out smooth no lumps. Turn on your drill as slow as possible move up gradually until the powder is smooth without lumps and bumps. 💕❣️
I get then huge boxes of Crayola sidewalk chalk. ENDLESS colors/combos and the ground up chalk makes BEAUTIFUL 'pigments' . And embarrassingly cheap too! Lol
@@Mrsf. you could do both and if you add more white you'll get a pastel color. If you want like a cover color add white and clear and just clear to get that color or more clear to get like a sheer color lol just play around with them small amounts at a time so you don't run out.
The colors came out beautiful. I'm thinking to get the pink you want, try mixing it with white powder instead and see what you get. Just a thought since it's so pigmented it looks red.
Lizamx6 that's exactly why I suggested it because the pink is so intense it's looking red and she wants pink so white may give her what she wants. If not all white mix white with the translucent pink powder she used to mix the pink.
Lizamx6 it would still be the same thing just about balancing the pigment vs the chosen powder. That's why I said add white powder to the acrylic powder she already mixed it will lessen the intensity and keep from loosing pigment
I let youtube autoplay all night and your calming videos and voice helped me stay asleep hahaa i dont even know how youtube took me here from Shane's videos
@@Misschosenbygod pour your preferred nail varnish/polish into your monomer and use as normal with a choice of your white or clear acrylic powder. I beleive this is what she meant. Very beautiful luv maybe the reason your pink is coming out red is because you are using the pink acrylic powder pink is a farm of red just a lighter version so what happens is the pink acrylic intensifies the neon pink making it red you did an awesome job and all the colors came out beautiful thanks for sharing and showing much love always 💅💕💕💕
Do like a scoop of clear, a spoon full of white, and a spoon full of color. Try that and see if the colors come out a lil better. But they are very pretty colors 😍😍
You can buy a herb grinder. It comes with its bowl and the hand grinder and it makes the powder super fine. It mixes it well too. That is what I use when I am using pigments to create acrylic colors. They sell them at Marshall's and TJ Maxx for like $10. Love your videos. ❤👍💅
Im currently still watching just finished the first color (hot pink) I think if you mix a little bit of white, just a little bit it will lighten up and look pink!
For me I do crystal clear acrylic powder and usually I use a 2 to 1 ratio. 2 parts powder acrylic and 1part colored pigment powder which is what you have. Pigment powder you do not need much of to make colors honey I watched you pour out all that first one and I was like holding my breath girrll lol try it out momma let us know!🌹 Love your stuffff!!!!! Keep up the good work love!!!!!😎
Best way is to actually use a measuring system. Like even if it’s only the scoop end of a cuticle pusher so u know the ratios Also good tip I do. Is make it in a little glass bowl n mic it together w the sanding bit and your e file. Mixes it perfect then put it in the litttlw plastic containers The reason why I say this. Is bc I found out the hard way. If u mix it while it’s in the little plastic pot. The sanding disc will actually file some of the plastic pot into the powder mix. Leaves white or black flecks in it. So if u mix in little glass shot glass or even the lids from large candles jars it works awesome Also if u mix w a white it would b more opaque rather than translucent That’s my tip of the day
Also, if you are using mica you can mix and use it straight, but if you're using pure pigment, you have to use a blender or some type of blending device or else it will come out chunky. ONce you do that, it will be perfect.
I think the reason your hot pink came out red is because of the color powder you used. I always use the clear powder to get a true color mix. I love what you made.
add a bit of white acrylic to your mix and it will be truer to color. This happens because pigments are water soluble and it absorbs the water and is darker.
I use clear and a little white acrylic powder for more opaque color, pastels more white and translucent just clear you do not need a lot of the pigment . You can use a mortar to grind it and they also sell herb/ weed grinders on aliexpress. I also buy artist pastels chalk to make my colored acrylic they sell it at craft stores.
*Lovely colors! To incorporate the powder and pigment more thoroughly, you could grind them with a mortar and pestle; that way they'll be fully mixed. When you have small chunks in there, a whisk or spoon won't take care of the problem because you need to either smash those chunks or sift them out altogether. Just a quick idea for you.* 😊
Ive also seen how in some videos the mix them in ziplocks and it mixes better!! Btw I haven’t tried it im just sharing what I’ve seen that has worked for others lol 😉
You have to use a little bit of white powder so the colors stay bright so if you add 5 tsp of acrylic powder than do 4 tsp clear and 1 tsp white powder and the pigment color
You need a coffee grinder from Walmart or a thrift store to grind your pigments good. But next time put two scoops acrylic & One small scoop using your cuticle pusher end as the scooper & scoop a lil pigment then check it out and if you want darker add more pigment
Hey mama the correct form for mix pigment is with natural acrilic .and put a little glass ball inside the bottle and shake u go to see the result is better.
Have you tried sifting the ingredients? It’s a baking technique where you push the dry ingredients through a metal strainer. It breaks up the chunks and lets the ingredients mix evenly together
If you use a motar and pestle to get the lumps out of pigment before adding your acrylic it works better. You don't need to add a lot of pigment powder.
You should try the smokey nail with a gel black polish and the cure it an do gel white and put acetone an make it like a smokey look then cure it then add the neon powder color and add gel top coat.
They came out really pretty but all the videos I saw that mix color custom colors they start off with a little and test it multiple times so they get the right shade , like if you put some then shake and test it on paper towel each time. From what I noticed however pigment it is after mixed it’s like 2-3 shades darker on a nail , so next time just put a little bit at first especially if the color powder is super pigmented hope this helps 😊.
Oh and for the pink if you take a clean container and put 1/3 of the pink you mixed and then a full scoop of the translucent pink then it should be about the shade you’re looking for. You could just start out with less than 1/3 and just take like 2-3 tablespoons that’s the only way to cut that color down a couple shades otherwise you’ll just keep making more of the shade you don’t want I hope this makes sense lol.
The ones that came out darker than u wanted just add a table spoon of white arcylic to lighten it up. (Just an fyi). I make mu own arcylics also kuz colored arcylic is expensive and if u buy cheap ones they always come with clumps in them

But idea dab the top of each container with the colors so you know before you open, but I'm sure you did that.. Love this.. U go girl..! 😉😉
Sweetie, if you want an more solid/opaque colour, that's a closer colour match to your pigment powders, then you need to use a white acrylic powder. Not clear. Also, the reason you have chunks of pigment isn't because you didn't shake/mix it right. It's just that the powder is ground fine enough. Crush those pieces or get a little blender. Good-luck with your awesome😉 self.

Can I use poster colors? The ones kids use for their paintings to create these colors
Use a really fine sifter, that will get rid of any crumbs of color.
You NEED a little grinder if you're gonna make your own acrylic colors. You can get little hand held ones that snap on to the jars from TBK trading.
Try using white. Also use a pistol and mortar to mix. That eliminates the chunks and mixes better. Also with pigments a little goes a long way.
Good job sis!
I used a spice grinder electric one
Can you recommend some other powder that link isn’t working
Use crayola chalk. You just crush and blend the chalk and use that as the pigment. Then you mix with the clear and white acrylic.
Drawing some flames on that ombre nail would be cute 💕
Have you used the color acrylics on your clients or yourself? Did they lift or did you have any problems with them?
Also if you don’t get color in your liquid or change it after colors the yellow would be more neon just a tip I’ve seen
Very pretty colors ❤️❤️💅🏽💅🏽
If you add some glitter to that red it would be a wonderful color for a valentines or Christmas addition !!
Try using a sifter that will break up the lumps or use a metal tea holder /infuser
Is she using colored chalk to create coloured acrylic powder?
Usually when u used pink color in nail polish in order to the color pop up has to be the base white or some kind of primer white !!
What kind of powder is it tho?? Not crayola, so what is it??
Is it less expensive to mix the colors yourself ?
Definitely is!
