Ha ah... Hope you can get it sorted. Yeah I checked on the trees before for widow makers... All were structurally sound... So I. For a penny, in for a pound
Hi Scott. Hats off to you and Dan for doing what you do. Ive just got back into wild camping in the last 6 months and im loving it. You are very inspirational. I camp a lot at loch lomond so am used to some inclement weather but that looked scarey. Keep up the good work mate. 👏 👍
@ we’ve been lucky, a few fence panels swinging free but nothing that’s caused too much damage luckily. I’ve been out for a few short walks between squalls, with the dog but only locally. Hope your house weathered the storm too 🥰🏴
Not sure how comfortable trying to sleep in ear defenders will be .. but not a bad shout. I sometimes have my ear phones in listening to Audible or something. But I forgot them on this night
Close call on the hammock dropping you. Repairable or time for a new one? The bivvy sleeping bag will be great when it gets even colder. It looks really cozy and warm I enjoyed the video …stay warm and take care ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks Sue yeah the Zenbivy is pretty awesome! Looking forward to getting out in it more. Unfortunately time for a new one!! I can salvage some bits from it but it's a viking funeral for this one!
@@OscarOutdoors22 Thanks! I’d seen that video; very helpful tips. In this video, from about 3:00 to 3:30, it looks like the tarp is being unfurled from around the ridge line? Maybe it’s in a stuff sack that’s open on both ends? Very nice deployment.
Time for you to invest in a better-quality hammock. Dutchware over here in the states will make you a custom one to whatever color you want just about, and it will be an entire universe of difference in quality than what you are used to. Superior gear, Majestic, Hammock Gear also will make you a far superior hammock that will last you the rest of your life.
Yeah I'd love to but with the USA Ones I almost have to pay as much for import tax as I do for the product... I'll check them all out though and see where my budget can stretch! 😜
@OscarOutdoors22 i believe Dutchware has a company in the Uk that distributes their hammocks you could try called Henge Hammocks. Might save you import fees thar way and get a first class hammock.
Lol... Fair point... I very rarely check the weather before I go out. Just the dates I can go out on... So I have to go when I have to go. Rain or shine lol
Nice to see you out again. It'll be nice to do a camp without the strong winds. Hopefully next week looks promising. For your tarp, if you don't mind the weight, try the thick bungee cords. I tried them after having a couple of tarps fail. They have worked really well. Sorry about the hammock. I might have misunderstood it's setup but, I would have thought the structural ridge line would be better on the gathered end loop? Hopefully it will repair. I can sleep through the swinging but in strong winds, being blown up in the air and bouncing is difficult.😂
Good to see you and English Woodsman out together again. You did well in the storm and still looked cheerful at the end. It is all good practice and as Nietzsche said - 'If it does not kill you it makes you stronger'. Take care...Stella Jorgensson UK Eastern Fenland.
I came over to see how you fared I was watching Dans video and the wind was wild, I enjoy his videos so great to see you there too. I'm a fan n a new sub thankyou for a great video your content and time you put into your video i appreciate I look forward to seeing more from you, watching from New Zealand ❤
Your hammock survived far better than my garden fence did lol. Im glad none of those trees came down above you!
Ha ah... Hope you can get it sorted. Yeah I checked on the trees before for widow makers... All were structurally sound... So I. For a penny, in for a pound

Miserable night but you did well. I like that little stove with the 5 burners. Nice. I think that's better then just one ring. Have a lovely holiday.
Yeah Defo! I love the stove but the gas failed me in this occasion. Always feel better outdoors and especially in a hammock
Good to see you and Dan out again pal ,all the best from this lincs long time subscriber 👍

@ you were brave going out in that lol, I’m scared to even try one, I’m too clumsy 🤣

You do this for fun dont you? Great job once again Legend !! 👌

What about trying a pair of ear defenders to keep the wind noise out so you can sleep better
