Hi, my son have the same bike and we're having the same problem. I need some feedbacks on your solution. Did it last? Can you explain with a video and show the type of glue you used? 🙏🏾
I found you can tighten that nut with a channel lock pliers and it eliminates most of the play. It is a poor design however. I haven't found a way to lower the handle bar neck. It's riveted in place. Picked ours up on FB for $15 so will use it until it displays more problems.
Thanks for the video. I am finding the same problem with ours. I have a question though, because I had a 71 chevelle like that in high school, same color with Crager SS wheels. Any chance you got that in Oklahoma back in 2000-2001? I miss it so much lol
Never had that issue but noticed the pedals are off. Was a BMX rider growing up and for some reason these rock it pedals seem to have a swivel issue while cycling around. Wonder if it's affecting the learning process when kid is riding. As big as I am it felt awkward when I rode it to show an example.
The loose steering isn't associated with that plastic nut, though 🤨 The allen/hex bolt on the handlebar stem needs to be tightened. EDIT: I bought this bike and have ZERO problems. I guarantee this guy didn't follow the directions correctly. There are TWO spring loaded pins that lock the neck and folk together, with a door which covers the top pin that locks it in place.
@DaydreamingOfSleep Correct. I actually bought this bike for my 4yo and have zero issues. Pretty sure he didn't lock in the top spring loaded pin. I assume he didn't follow the directions.
You’re welcome… I think you can even find a bike with a better handle bar mechanism for the same price. I didn’t want my kid or anyone else’s kid have an accident because of that system.
I bet it has more to do with with buying it preassembled by a Walmart employee. My mom used to work at Walmart and during the holidays they hire people just to assemble bikes on a quota system.
The plastic "caps" on the crank arms just before the pedals, are covering some sort of locking piece, and I can't seem to remove the crank arm ends to replace the bearings. Anyone know how to disassemble this?
We got the 16 inch red Huffy Rock It bike and it does the same thing . I've tightened it almost every time we ride . I don't understand why its made like it is . Bad design .
That’s awful! I had Huffy as a kid and it was a tank! I guess “easy assembly” was code for cheaply made. Sounds like you were doing somethinh nice for some kiddos and Huffy let ya down.
My boys outgrown his this season but I just unscrewed it added glue tightened up and it never came loose again.

Pipe tape or painter tape maybe even thin duct tape
Thanks so much. Just bought it had difficulty with that plastic part setting it up. Watched your video now I’m about to return.
My problem exactly. Great video. Thank you

my sons bike has the same problem. someone should tell the makers of huffy
Maybe tighten the part you were showing because I just did that and it's perfectly fine.

Me too. I used to have a Dyno GT Air… best bike I ever had!

This bike doesn’t have one.

I just bought that for Christmas, Thanks I will have to go look at that now.

I can’t even take the back tire off because of the bracket thing. 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ I need to change the tube.

That’s a good point. Could’ve been over torqued or something and stressed out the connector.
how does the 2 piece crankarm comes apart?

Huffy is cheap as shit but id imagine a lil anti seize could help with a quick fix. That or match the thread pitch to a retaining but that's metal.

Now i see why it was only $48
Zero problems here. Have to follow the directions... which I assume he didn't do.
Dude I just tried to assemble this and it completely broke on me
Oh no man… hopefully you can get it swapped over to a better bike. Lady at Wal-Mart wasn’t even surprised I was bringing it back.
I bought My 3 year old the 12 inch one. I had to take it back bc the handle bars came right off . They wouldn't secure to the bike
Where's the brake for this?
Pedal backwards for the rear wheel brake. No hand brake.
I bought twenty of these for a Christmas giveaway. They ALL have problems like this. 12,16,18,and 20" bikes. A flawed design!

I got 1 of these, put it together, instantly HATED it, it's simply out, a piss POOR design
Agreed!
