I saw Star Wars (1977) in a theater with my parents at age 10...it was my 10th birthday present...in addition to a few other things. THIS work REALLY paid great respect to the TRUE nature of Star Wars...Vader was portrayed perfectly here...and that 'growl' we hear from Vader in response to Obi Wan's statement, 'Only a Master of Evil, Darth...' was the gem in this for me...plus...the reflection of BOTH sabers in Vader's mask was a nice symbol of his ongoing conflict...so...the saga continues!
It really captured how powerful the emotions were in that fight. Every clash push and punch said 1,000 words. the musical contrast was completly on point as well. Well done indeed! Nice star wars fan reaction to boot!
This is how you do a lightsaber duel! Better than any fight in the force awakens or the last jedi. I dont understand how Disney could screw up so much... This scene is amazing. Beautifull, inpactfull and full of emotion. You can see how furious and enraged darth vader is because of all the history these two have. Super cool.
That growl...right after Obi Wan's statement, 'Only a Master of Evil, Darth...' was exactly what we would expect from Vader...and the duel reflections of both light sabers in his helmet really prove the adherence to the original spirit of these films...yes...this was wonderfully done 🚀

Look at their channel. They have respectable sub count, and that scene and promos leading up to its completion are all they have. They worked on it for over a year.
Eew...the pixar like star wars episode...too much cgi so lame and rushed...ep3 should be the most beautifully created episode because its the birth of Lord Vader....so CGI dependent
I think the most impressive thing is the camera work, makes the fight much more realistic and brutal, as it should be instead the "dancing" of the prequels.
What people don't understand is that Darth Vader felt fear at the moment Obi wan disappeared. Darth felt that he had became the master of the jedi arts so when Obi disappeared he thought he was being tricked by Ben and that Ben had learned more than him .
Little detail that I really missed watching the scene first time is that Obi Wan extinguishes his lightsaber before pushing Vader away, and I don't know for certain, but to me it looks like it's a nod to Vader's observation of him becoming weaker, to the point where he has to either light the weapon up, or Force push, not doing both at the same time, and if that was the idea, that was just perfect amount of subtlety of showing instead of telling.
I personally have seen this scene a few times, and I have enjoyed it each time. I would like to see Mr Lucas claim this as cannon. I know he can't because of... reasons... but I like to imagine, if the film were made with today's technology. This scene would be in it.

This is in my canon! They are guys in costume. For old Ben they used face tracking software to put Alec Guinness face on the actor portraying him. Probably why it took so long to release it

I've watched other reactors comment on how badass Darth Vader was. While that may be true, Obi-Wan held up his own. He was only defeated because he let Darth Vader win.
Yes. While this does look great, the original fight was very even, this however made it more Vader, and him getting the hit in on Obi wouldn't have happened. Obi-Wan was the absolute master of defence, to fall prey to such a wild swing wouldn't happen. Anyway, it's a nice watch but not canon.
It's more realistic, in that now it actually looks like a guy in his 40s vs a guy in his 60s, instead of looking like a guy in his 60s vs a guy in his 80s, like the one we got in 77.
Yeah, I saw this and was just thinking... when the Special Editions were being made, this is the kind of thing that could have (and should have) been done. However, the important thing here is "style". You cannot blend a new style with the old. It has to be done very carefully. This was a little little too chaotic. The blending was too obvious. As an editor I know how to keep the old style while blending in the new. The music transitions are obvious and the dialog, etc... it has to be done carefully... and it could have been. But I can see the focus here was on trying to "impress" rather than "improve". So I like the idea, but it could have been handled more carefully. The work here is to be praised, but the point of the work is to blend. Nice review Viv!!!
You got it all wrong. The scene was perfect as it was, some fans just had issues with the somewhat tame combat scenes. So the whole idea of improving this scene, is to have a more impressive lightsaber duel. That was literally the sole thing that was missing. So by doing an impressive lightsaber duel, they improved the scene. It's not one or the other. The reimagined scene was both impressive, and therefore also improved. Which was the intention.
So when a group of *{STAR ⭐️ WARS} fans. Make a *Dynamic video in there kitchen. It not only *Stirs-up Nostalgia Feelings. But *Strengthens your heart ❤️, & soul. Why in heavens name.? This fight really channels the hatred Anakin has for Obi-Wan. And the re-imagination of this scene also makes the jump from Revenge of the Sith to A New Hope feel much more natural. This is what Lucas films should have done when they made all those "special edition". Not to add CGI and extra props to every unnecessary scene. But to add to the scenes that really needed it.
Seamless editing (particularly between the scenes from original, mixed with the new footage and EFX). Fight is far more intriguing and ANIMATED. Choreography is dynamic! CG SFX excellent. The added soundtrack and sound-bytes from Episode 3, in the background, add a depth to the scene. You can see and feel Anakin's/Vader's anger and hatred. It links and continues the story from Episode 3, as their relationship comes to this inevitable fight and its final conclusion.This is the fight we been waiting for over the past 40 years! PEOPLE: TELL DISNEY TO RE-SHOOT THE FIGHT SCENE, BASED ON THIS VIDEO, AND RE-RELEASE IT ON DVD AND/OR STREAMING. THEY WILL MAKE 10X THEIR INVESTMENT!
That was pretty epic. Though there is something classic about the original, I would like this in a video game but keep the scene as it is in the movie.
Hey Viv, don't you think a fight like this 'SC 38' is what we should have gotten for Luke Skywalker in the sequel trilogy?! How awesome would that have been? The older Luke deserved a lightsaber duel like THIS one! I still can't believe the route they chose for Luke...More missed opportunities in my opinion..that being said I loved the approach here, the fight is intense dangerous and fueled with anger!
I’m not really in favor of tampering with a masterpiece, to me, the original will always be perfect, just as it was released in 1977. However I’ll admit this is quite well done, and matches the story far better than anything that was added in the special editions.
You know what's sad? People making millions of dollars with millions of dollars of budget couldn't do this well in three entire movies. That's what's sad.
