Hey Brad. My job is I spread lime and fertilizer on farms. You had asked why the lime empties so much faster than the fertilizer, i don't know about in game but in real life its because majority of the time fertilizer is spread at 200 - 300 pounds per acre and lime is spread at 2 to 3 tons per acre.
also isn't lime powder and fertiliser is pellets that's how it is here many a time i was hit by a few fertiliser pellets in my time used to love watching it as a kid the swashing sounds are satifying
Hi Brad, just to answer some of your questions - the high usage of lime is pretty accurate, on a field that you might use 2 tonne of fertilizer you would use 2 truckloads of lime (or Gypsum here is Australia). The dry fertilizer for nitrogen is commonly used and is called Urea Keep up the great videos mate.
Nice video Brad! Really enjoying this little series you are doing. I am getting a Xbox 360 in less than a month. Never would have known that you could join two fields thanks to you.
Just a heads up for FS19 PLAYERS you can now harvest green corn with forage harvester which is more realistic to my knowledge this wasn’t possible in FS17 without mods anyway
The Solid version of fertilizer is sodium nitrate, I hope I spelled it properly. Lightning creates natural nitrates in the ground so whenever you hear thunder or in a thunderstorm its fertilizing the fields. Also burning fields also creates nitrate above the ground, that you want to either plow or cultivate in. Also lava contains a high amount of it, that is why the big island of Hawaii has lush green jungle type plants, plus farms do goo so well there, the soil is aerated by the lava flows to allow room for water storage and drainage along with allowing room for roots for the crops to travel looking for resources.
So in real life harvesting you would make what we call a “strikeout”. This is when you pick a spot to cut through once the headlands are taken off. Then you work back and forth, always turning left at the end of each swath. This ensures that the auger is always on the side where you’ve already cut so that you can unload your hopper on the go without having to stop. Taking the headlands off first gives you plenty of room to turn around at the end and get lined up for the next swath.
How do you always turn left but also turn around at the end of each row? Won’t you be facing the wrong way going one direction and the right way going the other direction?
@@christianreasor9689 you’ll have to draw yourself a picture to understand. Picture yourself pulling up to a field that has not been harvested at all. You cut through right in the middle of the field, for example. Then when you get to the other end of the field, you turn left and go back the same way you came, and so on. Your strikeout will keep getting bigger because you’ll be alternating sides each time you go up and down the field. Once the headlands are off, of course. That’s typically the first thing you do in real life when starting a new field.
Love the series brad keep up the good work. Also a Vaderstad Rapid A600S would be a good investment early on allows you to seed and cultivate at the same time with a 6m working width.
Anyways because when he was creating his field in a section of land that was not field the particle effects of dirt don't show, but when he turned it into field, the effects now show. Anyways I doubt grass has munch particle effects anyways and I am wondering if it was dirt instead of grass if you would see particle effects, but my guess is it has something to do with the field.
Also I work on a farm I also put up Grain Bins for a living. When a farmer hits a deer or any animal they just clean it and repair it and move in they do not care about animals getting in the way. #farmlife
Wow, watching this 4 years later and I just finished that same harvesting contract on Field 8 for 80k lol, For Beets instead of Corn idk if that makes that big of a difference
I had a couple of issues doing jobs for people harvesting and they indicated where to take it to and when I took it to the designated selling point they would not let me unload so I checked the information for the selling point and it had a red marker indicating they were not accepting that particular commodity so I ended up having to cancel the contract.
Hi Brad, I am very new to farm sim. I just purchased FS19 and trying to learn the game. Great videos! They are very helpful! I will continue to watch this series. Do you every use mods other than vehicles? If so what mods to you use? Do you have a list anywhere? Thanks again for the great video.
Hi Brad, love watching your videos. I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer for. I last played FS15 and one wish I had back then was that I could have a hired worker pickup and deliver stuff for me? Do you know if that is possible in FS19? Do you show it in any of your episodes. Thanks.
When you do something you like save the game then continue then if you a mistake just restart the game without saving and the mistake will not be there and you can start again.
19 has great features but what a dump. Man I want to play in a happy place like Maplefield, a clean town, great dinners, and a nice place to be. Raven's port is a depressing dump. Why not have houses to buy when you get to be a millionaire that are not dives? Some great Ideas but I will have to take a long look before I buy '21.
They could definitely add a more thorough tutorial for sure! It tells you when it's ready for harvest when you walk up to the field...The basics are cultivate, sow, harvest and repeat. You can fertilize before sowing. You may also need to spray the field or use a weeder to kill weeds. I suggest turning crop destruction off until you get used to the process.
Run over to one of your fields and look at it it gives information about what is growing the weeds the fertilizer and what it needs if anything. There appears a box to your lower right with all the information.
Everything is fine here. Must be on your end or maybe an issue with TH-cam. Let me know what part of the video you are experiencing problems and I'll check on it.

Also most farmers shoot deer, raccoons, and squirrels for a living so dont matter to them just means more supper!
Your crop circle, as EVERYONE knows, was made by aliums from outside space!
Massive Like for this excellent game 👍time FW
There’s a attachment in misc part of the shop that can delete the field to its original state.
S'what I was gonna say.
2020 anyone?
2021 actualy haha

If it's mimicking real world conditions lime and fertilizer is put out at different poundage per acre.
been waiting all day for your let's play thanks

I love the manager mode so far

Hi I’ve followed your video and done the same as you but I got to night half way through joining feilds. How come you didn’t get to night? Thanks
He has his time set slower
Isn't he running that plow backwards? Don't you generally flop it such that the tire in the rear is in the furrow from the last pass?
Hi being a newb I need to ask why can't you sell the barn and create a big field combining all the fields?
2022 four years later
Yep
😄
Please don't drive in the crops. My ocd can't handle that :D
About the hot combine its nothing compared to tin sheets for grain bins
American style modding have mod tractors for america already like row crops for cases or jonh deeres
Combine is unloading now because you are facing a different direction now.
The sma”lee the field the easier it is
You are joining the two fields
Hi love the content especially from a smaller TH-camr compared to the others like the squad and Spencer tv
Same

Nice Farming
Watching this in 2021 😂 1 month before farming simulator 2022 comes out
Can you only plow when you own two field side by side
Hey if you want to make some extra money you can do contracts and plow other peoples fields
Oh sorry I said it before I saw that you were going to do a contract
@@gruesomeg184 Bro it hes been three years so I dont think he needs tips lol
Harvesting is not so relaxing when something breaks every second I know that from experience
Someone is using the Apple default soundtracks haha!

The only way you can do that is by using the mod called Courseplay.
When you do something you like save the game then continue then if you a mistake just restart the game without saving and the mistake will not be there and you can start again.
How are you playing fs19 in with gamepad
It does not matter if you plow or not.😀
If a field needs plowed and you don't plow it, you'll lose 10% additional crop yield
Watching in 2021 lol I just got the game
awesome video!
thanks it helped

I’m watching this in 2021 lol
For weeding I just spray herbicide, I havent even used a weeder. Seems like the game doesnt even know the difference lol
Why do you Plow it why not cultivate it?
Brad what's a OCD
You climb threw the throat of the combine and clean it out
Lime will spread faster because it’s more like powder
I have fs19 and I had a glitch where the header was missing corn

That was so unexpected! lmao Totally caught me off guard.
How do I even know what to do in my field. It’s very confusing. Idk if it needs to be harvested or whatever
Donavon Grant same thing they don’t even tell you how to do all that they should explain more

Do you have to cultivate and plow ?
plow then cultivate
No, you don’t. Plowing cultivates the field as well, just looks uglier.
