The beat on Say You Will sounding like a heart monitor for the intro of an album called 808s and Heartbreaks is crazy, i never thought of that. Great catch
This album is like an emotional journey for me - the beginning track as that dark, deep depressed introspection you go through after a breakup, the next few are reflection of self, then somewhere around Love Lockdown that reflection starts to look at her instead of himself and he starts to get annoyed, laugh, and eventually get back to the realization of being fully alone again (around Street Lights/Bad News) before getting mad and saying fuck this (See You In My Nightmares). But then the bomb drops, mom dies, and Coldest Winter hits (seeing him perform that live, laying on a mountain cliff face up while snow fell on him as he sang it was...incredible) and then nothing was ever ok again and nothing was the same again and Pinocchio Story is saying it plainly. This is Kanye changing the game. This is Kanye not giving one fuck if you care or like it or enjoy it, he had to make it and he had to make it this way. That it ended up changing the entirety of popular music going forward was never his intention, he just had to bare his soul.
this 6 track run is probably one of the best of all time, these tracks aswell as street lights, bad news and coldest winter are incredible
can’t forget pinocchio story to top it off

Without a doubt, this album is a game changer! Thanks for the analysis 🙌
Great comment and on point. His live performances are another part of the tapestry of art he weaves with each album.
Shout out to Cher for her song Believe which is widely regarded as the first major use of auto-tune in popular music.
Where’s part 2? Been waiting long enough 😔
You're right, I'll make sure to get it posted this week. 🙌
