Very cool, that rear shock tower reminds me alot of the MST towers. I recently got a TA-06 Pro kit that I'm gonna turn into a drift car. I also picked one up used with almost all aluminum upgrades for a a great price for a tamiya car.
I thought it seamed abit wider iv had to camber my wheels to get it right for a 190 mm shell. Iv moved the bumper pad back 5mm so its touching the motor but still need abit more. Im useing a old shell atm. I got it to fit by takeing the bumper off the shell but I dont want to do it to my nice shells. Im sure u will have the rwd bug. Iv had it awhile now. Lol. I cant wait to use it. I converted my old r31 to rwd and that was a gd setup it just needed more turning angle witch this one has so im excited to see how it dose. I hope to see some vids of u drifting it soon. =) happy drifting
Once I heard the little girl's voice I knew he was going to point the camera at her and ask her "Say hi to everybody" xDD I am a good anticipator dudes
Yeah it's working good if you are looking to get more speed play with a little weight above the tires better to be directly on wheel area rather the chassis I have good weight and speed but the way I made my chassis it's just flat out heavy and I can't remove anything. Oh and I'd leave you big motor cause it's better to have some reserve than not enough and sensored will be a night and day difference for your tighter corners and traditions I'll be following u good luck I can't wait to see you killin on those cs and 50/50 guys
haha thanks man, RWD is catching on here fast. has been 2 or 3 added since I bought mine. My biggest gripe with this thing so far is dealing with the wheels touching the shocks. Im experimenting with different setups right now, but I just cant find a happy medium with offset. The car is quite a bit wider than anything else I own so I cant run my 9mm offset wheels with it.
I like how honest you were about the review. I'm starting to realize that front weight is very very good for rwd! im doing a 60/40 split currently. I'm still trying to figure out why others are doing rear weight. its only hurting the performance in my honest opinion.
it almost appears as though more rear weight/traction makes the car want to initially understeer, then oversteer. odd. Im finding the front weight helps pull out of spins.
I love your videos man! What rc drift car would you recommend for a beginner? Preferably something with not much set up I would think, I'm really wanting to get into the drift hobby!!
Another drift car!!! you know if you need some more input on the drifter's. I wouldn't say no to you sending me one of yours and your daughter is super cute
Looks like it automatically steers depend of the yaw angle. Never noticed before at the other cars. what makes it operate like that? i guess it's very exclusive for drift cars. +Evol Villain RC
I could use your help here Evol. I've been looking at the Eagle kits. The guys I see running them are getting them on the HK site but when I go there and can't seem to find the kit... I don't know if I'm not sure how to navigate it or whats going on. Can you give me an idea on what I need to do there?
Hi. Iv just got my 16fm rwd last week. Its all together and ready to run but iv not tested it yet. Iv been doing rwd for a while so im sure it will be all gd. Any way are you haveing any problems fitting shells to it? All my shells are 85mm from the front bumper to the middle of the front wheel. But the 16fm rwd is 100mm from those 2 points. Thats my problem. Just wondering if u are haveing the same problem. Cheers
umm yea funny you should mention that. The car does seem to have something odd about its wheel placement. I find it to be a bit wider than my other cars. 6mm offset are still too wide for my 195mm bodies. It's weird the wheelbase is just way too long for my HPI bodies, but looks fine on the yokomo. I don't know. As far as the bumper I trimmed mine to clear the front of the body. I've read that many people don't run a bumper at all. I finally got a shell mounted and I am happy with the way it looks last night. I'm ready to take it drifting this weekend. scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/t1/1891287_794554530559193_418891228_n.jpg
i been trying to get mine going. I'm try mount my batter in the back just to give it. and i know what your saying i got a stock 540 i tto1 chassis still spins. so ill let you know how my battery theory wrks lol.
what sites do you order from and what types of cars and stuff to look for as a beginner.Im 14 and i wanted to get into to it but i hve no clue where to start
I ran skinnies on the front of mine it worked ok but I higher entry speed I got tons of push raikou has those cg rounded style tire could offer you some clearance I run 9mm on the front with the wheel shaved down a little bit
Hey did you notice some clicking sound from your eagle racing r31when driving it? Because I'm having some trouble finding where that notice is coming from. If anyone could help that would be amazing! Thanks :)
i have a question. I recently bought a traxxas slash 4x4 is there a way by buying drift wheels and shocks and shocks and springs, is there a way to change it t a drift car??
you could just put some electrical tape on the wheels if you want it to drift, but theres no way you can change it into a full out drift car. You can buy a Hpi E10 for cheap, and its a great entry level drift car.
what's the best DRIFT R/C chassis to do Show Drift (not speed drift) ? P.S. I hate giros, that's for kids. I know the answer would probably anything that would be a project in that sense. But I wonder what's the best platform for such Show Drift build. Best angles. Not only with angle kits, but with great understeer to be able to do lots of reverse entries
You're going to need a gyro for a RWD car to make it anywhere near drivable (Although I do agree that a gyro is pointless for AWD and CS cars). Not to mention that understeer will just make your car spin out when you attempt to reverse entry. You can build a car that can both hold an angle, and do it at high speeds, you know. I'd suggest the Eagle Racing TT02 RWD-GRT. I own one and it's my most competitive chassis (having owned 3 previous chassis, namely the Tamiya TT02, MST XXX-D, and Eagle Racing TT02 FRD).
I just got the same and its good. Got it for 120$cad with a dx3s spektrum transmitter/rx, 2 lipo 5000mah and a 2s to 6s charger/balancer. Was it a good deal?
THEkrazyBOY2596 not really it's pretty tough. It will chew up the front belt if you don't have a one way. worst thing is the amount of CS it has, it's flat out hard to drive.
THEkrazyBOY2596 OK as in drivable? yes, OK as in as fast as a purpose built onroad racer? no way. This is what I mean by a one way:: www.r2hobbies.com/aluminum-one-way-tube-for-sakura-d3.html
I know what the belt is usually eused for thats why i asky whybit was there considering its not 4 wheel drive..i was just saying its a weird design because i have been in the r/c hobby since i was 13 starting with traxxas 4tech..
+erik spence yea front motor is pretty new and only used in drift application. Already ancient history in drift circles though. Most new stuff is rear motor. Or rear mid.
Don't worry about these guys, they have really good customer service. Very pleased with how it all went down. they shipped same day, sent me a pic of the actual parcel with my addy and tracking. had it in 4 days. Followed up when they realized they left something out of my kit. I'll def use them again.
Nice work on the car looks absolutly amazing will look even better with a body shell keep up the good work
Another great video! Looks fun.
Lol @ munchkin "what's that?" :)
Just picked up my first drifter, you infected me! ;)
Great vids - thanks for all the info!
Very cool, that rear shock tower reminds me alot of the MST towers. I recently got a TA-06 Pro kit that I'm gonna turn into a drift car. I also picked one up used with almost all aluminum upgrades for a a great price for a tamiya car.
Good stuff man. Getting mine in few weeks from HK but had a the FM without a donor r31. I like your setup and will see if it works for me. Thanks!
Iv just seen ur pic. Sweet shell and looks like it fits perfect.
Lol. excellent review!!!!
Thanks man! You're the reason I picked it up :) I really like it! Already a couple of guys in my club ordering them since they saw mine...lol
I like how honest you were about the review.

***** I think the idea is more weight more traction, but for RC RWD drift it seems like the opposite is true.
it almost appears as though more rear weight/traction makes the car want to initially understeer, then oversteer. odd. Im finding the front weight helps pull out of spins.
Yeah I'm hope it works out for me I never went sensorless so we shall see how it works out for the price its hard to pass up
I love your videos man! What rc drift car would you recommend for a beginner? Preferably something with not much set up I would think, I'm really wanting to get into the drift hobby!!
Nice review.! where did you get your kit? thanks.
it looks to work really good right out the box did you play with suspension settings or tires at all
it's pretty much just thrown together out of the box.I put a camber gage on it, changed oil and springs. tweaked it a little before I drove it.
She very cute , and you were driving the shit out of that thing ! If you find a solution to that spur gear thing let me know then I will buy one !
Another drift car!!! you know if you need some more input on the drifter's. I wouldn't say no to you sending me one of yours and your daughter is super cute
nice work................d
Looks like it automatically steers depend of the yaw angle. Never noticed before at the other cars. what makes it operate like that? i guess it's very exclusive for drift cars. +Evol Villain RC
+Zafer ayyıldız its the gyro. yes RWD drift cars usually run them, but some AWD drifters do too.
The car comes with steering stops. it's the pieces you said you dont know what its for, in the same bag as extra belts
thanks for the heads up, I'll check into that!
Nice can u say me where u buy this chassi
How does your SP Reventon S feel compared to a sensored setup. Thinking about pulling the trigger for my R31-16FM.
its not bad, but Ive seem them run like ass. Keep the stock firmware and gear it right to keep cogging to a minimum.

Wow my comp don't like it. I keep getting an untrusted site pop up... weird.

thanks mate I will keep checking back regularly.
did you find a fix for the wobbley spur gear?
commander keeno no, I'm just rolling with it so far. Hasn't caused a problem yet.
awesome thanks man
your daughter is so adorable :)

Best angles. Not only with angle kits, but with great understeer to be able to do lots of reverse entries

+Tito Nogueira they went rear motor, new front suspension, more flexibility.

how do you tilt the wheels like most drifters have theirs
combination of castor and camber.
thanks.
sick
Do they got other styles ? Can you provide a link
So what's your choice of drift cars now?
I've gotten rid of the Sakura, and now I just have the MS01d for CS/comp car and I have the R31 for RWD fun :)
can you give me some advice on building a rc drift car
This from which country?
was the sakura a bad car?
not at all, but probably not the best beginner car.
ive had rcs but this would be my first drifter. it was durable? like no problems?
THEkrazyBOY2596 not really it's pretty tough. It will chew up the front belt if you don't have a one way. worst thing is the amount of CS it has, it's flat out hard to drive.

Can the r31 kit fit on a Tamiya tt02 D
No
Where can I find this car
if the car isnt 4wheel drive why is there a belt that goes from back to front
Because the motor is in the front.
Thats just weird...
+erik spence - power has to get to the rear wheels somehow. The belt that is omitted is the one that usually drives the front wheels.
I know what the belt is usually eused for thats why i asky whybit was there considering its not 4 wheel drive..i was just saying its a weird design because i have been in the r/c hobby since i was 13 starting with traxxas 4tech..

how much you build it?
where did u bought this Eagle Kit ? I found one here , www.broadtech.hk/eagleshop/shop/ShopProductDetail.aspx?id=R31-RWD-GO but kinda scary to order
where can i get one reply here plz?
where you buy this?
You can buy the chassi here
