seeing the younger children and even just the young adults dancing in full regalia...I have chills. I am not of the Lakota or any indigenous nation in the USA, but that is a universally beautiful thing right there, the older generations passing on the legacy of their culture, their spirits, their connection to the great Mystery and to their own history, as well as present and future. The younger generations carry us forwards. Much love to the Oglala, as well as all the indigenous peoples and nations of Turtle Island from north to south. Your cultures and traditions are incredible.

I'm 87% Native American. My mother is of the Lakota Sioux and used to take me to these pow wows. I could feel my roots in the soil, in the land. My father who is Irish, named me after his grandmother, but that's a different story. My mother didn't like my name much and she used to call me '' little rabbit '' in Lakota. Love you Mom and Dad. See you in a week. xD

How can you be 87% Native American if your dad is Irish? You'd be a maximum of 50%.

There's something amazing about seeing men in military uniforms protecting the man leading the Grand Entry. There was a very long time in US history that that would be unthinkable. Thank you for this gift.

when i was 5 i was adopted out of the rez, but i still remember dancing at powwows and hearing the music, but i didnt know that only natives did it, so i always thought we would still go to pow wows, sadly this is the closest i can get to pow wows, this is the closest i can get to my culture, to my family.

The only regret that I have in life is that I'm not full-blood Native American. I'm only 1/6 blood. If I could become full-blood through a blood transfer, I'd do it so quickly that it'd make a fast-hopping rabbit look like it was moving in slow-motion!!!

Then my last one was on the grounds that I helped raked up grass that was thick . what I did I was on a mission trip for a week . But I think it's a way of acknowledging that our modern way of life has alienated us from the natural world. However, we have not tamed nature and we are still at its mercy.

To all Native American people: I am truly sorry for all of the anger and hatred that you feel towards white people. Know that we are not all the same. Not all still hold prejudice in their hearts. Know that we don't wish to take from you anymore, as those who came before us. All we wish to do is learn, to understand, so that we may live together, peacefully, as should have been done when Europeans first came to this land. I don't stand before you as an enemy, but as someone who only wishes for friendship and peace.

This is so beautiful to watch. At the risk of sounding dumb. In the beginning there was a gentleman who was in full dress and his face was painted. I was wondering what that represented in your culture.
