I'd still buy Getaway even though I already have Chromedome. I like to think of him (Getaway) as a spare body or an "Arctic Camo" upgrade for Chromedome. But then, I'm a weird guy. The Hot Rod looks great, and it's so faithful to the animation model. The opening cockpit is the icing on the cake. With that, you can re-enact his introduction scene in the 1986 movie. I wonder if they'll do an Arcee remolded from Blurr with Daniel as her Titan Master.
Those little pegs in car mode is to put any gun that have peg holes under the handle, so I fit rodimus guns from power of the primes and put his guns on the pegs.
Can confirm actually the front bumper is suppose to lock into place, as mine does. It's a soft lock, but it DOES still pop into place and hold very well. I got lucky in that I only have one, slightly loose knee, and it doesn't even mess up posability since the other leg is enough to make up for it.
My Hot Rod, has none of these issues. I also really like it, it helped bring me around to the idea of every Transformer being a 'Titan Master'. Just cause I liked the idea of the usable cockpit, which when you think on it, is a throwback to TF Diaclone past.
the easy way heads are meant to go by twisting the tiny head 180° backwards, then he will fit. its the same way i ended solving titans return kup who was my first deluxe in this series. if you do "the angle trick" you're going to end up breaking the balljoint on the lil guys head sooner or later
when I first saw this figure I thought that he would be a redeco of Blurr because of the general shape, and especially the hood on the chest, glad to see that isn't the case
the window opens the wrong way but i can live with that especially compared to classics rodimus who seems to fall apart every 5 seconds for me before i lost the arm
If ur having problems with figure joints take some plastic wrap and put a ring tiny bit in the loose point. Then cut the excess off. I did that with my ravage USB. It now looks and works fine. The fix acts as a grip.
My figure head won't stay on for nothing at times and I had to put sum polish on the hips joints to tighten his legs up as well one of the back wheels won't spin. Other then that.. I love the figure
Well, lets hope that down in production line; Hasbro would fix loos points from TR Hot Rod. If not, then Hasbro needs to check they assembly lines that who is the bonehead in assembly line.
If I find this retail, let alone the Wave 2 deluxes, the first thing I'll do is repaint Firedrive to better resemble Firebolt. Also, fair amount of nail polish, I suppose. Any tips for pinned joints?
I've watched all your Titans Return reviews thus far, and the two that I really want to get are Hardhead and Crashbash. The rest just haven't appealed to me as much as those two in particular (though Chromedome is a close second).
1. turn the titan master head around. that's probably your issue there. 2. you got bad QC so it's not for every copy. I like your reviews but you do that a lot. you seem to think the QC you get applies to every copy.
Nathan Sanderson then again baltmatrix gets the first figures made pretty much all the time meaning his figures will typically have worse QC than later batches of figures are made

there was a box set that includes a titan master rodimus prime head and fastlane naunica i do not know how to spell naunica sorry and also there was laser prime and a guy i do not know and reprolabels set for hot rod
guess we can call this guy skullsmasher #2. If I decide to get this I might just import the takara version. And amen; no one should have to fix a new toy right out of package. After a few years fine; but not after a few minutes.

You can fix all these problems you have with the figure such as the loose joints and so can I when I was 10 years old, it shouldn't be a problem but I do think it is worthy of mentioning but not worthy complaining about. I have quiet a few titans return figures including Hot Rod and I don't have that issue it may be just your copy but it seems this happens to you every other figure thats got to suck....
While I would also love to see a non-combiner Ironhide and Ratchet, the Titans Return toys seem to be mostly focusing on characters who were Headmasters, Powermasters, Targetmasters, etc. in G1. Or at least were roughly from that release period...
Noah Juarez No word on it from the rumours, so almost certainly not. I would have liked to see a Titan Master Sideswipe as a homage to that one Dairycon set that was a Sideswipe helmet and Autobot sticker to "make any Transformer into Sideswipe".
Am I the only one who thinks it's weird how so many normal characters are now essentially Headmasters? I understand some of them were Targetmasters, etc. but now they're all Headmasters... And because they're all Headmasters, the gimmick isn't as unique IMO.

I fully agree with you that we should not have to fix even our mass produced figures. Seems like Hasbro needs better QC department.

I tend to rotate the titan master's heads 180 degrees before I pop them into the main robot as its head. The fit is usually better.
Rodimus was part of my childhood. He is also my favourite prime. Hot Rodimus Prime, the true prime of my childhood.
Great review and I love the look of Hot Rod!!! The QC issues are inexcusable at this point.
Aside from the joints, not a bad figure. I'm just wondering what will be the remold.

I used the floor polish Technic you have been mentioning in the reviews and it worked great
you need to turn the titan master's head around. that exact thing happened to my kup orion pax repaint.
My figure head won't stay on for nothing at times and I had to put sum polish on the hips joints to tighten his legs up as well one of the back wheels won't spin. Other then that.. I love the figure

Well Balt there is way to get the titan master just don't fold the wing which is his backpack fit the titan master first then fold up the back pack.
His Targetmaster became his Headmaster.

I'll be getting this guy. Since the Studio Series and Kingdom version are stupidly expensive.
Plus I always enjoy the headmaster gimmick.
We’re definitely getting a kingdom rerelease in a few years in the 86 line
so this is way better than the classics version

That costs more money than Hasbro's willing to spend. -_- The plastic quality is shall we say way less than Takara's versions.

Sometime, if a Hasbro figure have known issues Takara fix them with slight redesigns and remoldings. The other way around is also true.

I will put some super glue on the joints for me since floor polish doesn’t work and I will cut some of the front off to let the head stay in.

I think the faults are just yours, mine is perfectly fine, has no wobbly legs and the head is easy enough to get on
Well, good thing I wasn't planning on getting this figure since I'm not a huge fan of G1 Hot Rod anyway.
