      What material did you use to study and what tips do you have before pursing the test

    • @orionsaal8306
      @orionsaal8306 3 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      I used two different study guides, both the one that he suggests and the SIFT SECRETS study guide. The former was definitely better though. My tips for you would be to do the hidden figures and reaction time practices several times to train your brain, but they aren’t THAT important. I only got through about half of the hidden figures and 80 of the shapes but still got my score. Make sure to read through every little bit of the aviation knowledge portion of the study guide, it helped me a lot

      74. Damn I thought I did good with a 70, pretty sure youre 99th percentile for sure. They say the avg is 50. I got 98 of the simple drawings with 2 wrong and 22 of the hidden figures.

      @@mjsmith570 I thought I bombed the whole thing after hidden figures. I only got through 13 of them, but managed a 66 overall.

    I took the test in 1980, it was 500 questions and similar to the AF test. Before I could submit my packet the test itself changed to the FAST, 200 questions. 100 personality and 100 technical. The technical questions were broken down into several subcategories similar to the SIFT. I got a 122, minimum for the application was 110. In the end I had a 21 year career in the Army, and 19 in the civilian field and defense contractor industry

    When I took the test in 1984 it was called the FAST, or Flight Apptitude Standards Test. Passing was 80 and I got a 111. There were no study guides but I did manage to get ahold of a practice test. which i took so many times I could do it in my sleep. It looks like things have gotten a lot more complicated now.

    • @miller7251
      @miller7251 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly it was the hidden figures, which is strange because on every price of study material I looked at that was my strongest section. However on the actual test It was tough seeing them and I felt like the test made it a lot harder to see the shapes. That five minute timer doesn’t take long to tick down either. It did seem like they got easier after five questions in.
