Cinnamon, you have inspired me beyond belief. I suffer from alcoholism. I have over 9 months clean and I fell into a "great depression" and feared drinking. I found your tutorials about a month ago. Every time I paint, the insanity in my mind just STOPS. I have learned to love my art work. My husband and children are thankful for you, as am i. And they understand that time has to be set aside for me to paint and can tell when I am not gwtting enough time. Yu are such an inspiration. Just thank yu for the purest intentions of the soul. ❤
I had an art teacher in elementary school...she was the absolute worst teacher I ever had. For years I felt like I shouldn't bother being creative. After seeing your videos I am so much more confident in my painting. My 4 year old even enjoys creating with me. I wish I had you as an art teacher. I just taught a class of 24 middle schoolers how to do your snowman Cardinal painting for the 8th grade fund raiser for their class trip!! they are meant to give the painting to their parents for Christmas.. we raised enough funds to send one child who could not afford the trip the ticket to go. I don't know if you'll see this but I just wanted to tell you thank you..you are so inspiring and I literally started crying because I realized how much I miss art and painting. I used to do it a lot but was told that it was dumb to pursue and that I would never be successful at it or be able to support myself with it. Now, I'm at college studying something that I hate because it's more "acceptable" . I don't know what the future holds for me, but I hope I can start painting again because I remember how happy it used to make me. This might sound cheesy or lame, but your words meant a lot to me! I think this is the oldest of your tutorials that I've followed so far, and it was so fun to see where you've been compared to the present. Also, it was a treat to pretend to be Van Gogh for a few hours (sans all the hard stuff that he lived). Thank you for keeping all these tutorials up and accessible!
Lynda my paint stays wet for two reason I am working very fast and painting with professional grades of paint. You can add slo-dri by liquitex to your paint and it will slow it down. There is also a slower drying acrylic called golden open. :)
How fun, Cinnamon! Your painting took 1 hour and 30 minutes....mine took many hours. You make it look so easy. I took it to the next level and it turned out GREAT!! One of our favorites. Thanks for posting step by step lessons!

I just read you address and I wish that when I was there I had known you and had art classes from you. I mean this respectful. Sometimes you get silly. That is good for me as I am to serious and need to laugh. Today I have watched several of you painting tutorials and you have got me to laugh and it felt good. Thank you. I also finally can understand some things about painting and I believe as soon as I get some gesso, golden glaze, and canvas board that I can start painting. I finally feel good about painting again but this time in acrylics. You are wonderful.

I tried to make the starry night painting few weeks ago... Had not seen this video then... The biggest mistake I did was base coat the canvas with ultramarine and then tried making the stars and moon... The yellow would just not pop up no matter what I did... It just turned greenish and I really struggled with it. I am so glad that now I have come across your channel. U are a great teacher and I am really looking forward to start painting again❣️

I really enjoyed this Van Gogh painting class. I am in Nova Scotia Canada and the Beyond Van Gogh Is coming to Halifax in May. Now I can enjoy some of my own, before I get to see the real thing, again!

I think this is the oldest of your tutorials that I've followed so far, and it was so fun to see where you've been compared to the present. Also, it was a treat to pretend to be Van Gogh for a few hours (sans all the hard stuff that he lived). Thank you for keeping all these tutorials up and accessible!

Lynda my paint stays wet for two reason I am working very fast and painting with professional grades of paint. You can add slo-dri by liquitex to your paint and it will slow it down. There is also a slower drying acrylic called golden open. :)

I just read you address and I wish that when I was there I had known you and had art classes from you. I mean this respectful. Sometimes you get silly. That is good for me as I am to serious and need to laugh. Today I have watched several of you painting tutorials and you have got me to laugh and it felt good. Thank you. I also finally can understand some things about painting and I believe as soon as I get some gesso, golden glaze, and canvas board that I can start painting. I finally feel good about painting again but this time in acrylics. You are wonderful.

I tried to make the starry night painting few weeks ago... Had not seen this video then... The biggest mistake I did was base coat the canvas with ultramarine and then tried making the stars and moon... The yellow would just not pop up no matter what I did... It just turned greenish and I really struggled with it.

i loved skipping through this video and hearing the tone of your voice gradually change - like the deeper and deeper you got into painting the more focused you became, i love that about artists, it's kind of amusing actually! super amazing painting, by the way!
this was the most holistic tutorial i've seen. it felt like you were teaching a person to be themselves via acrylic as opposed to teaching an art student how to paint. i absolutely loved this, thank you

I do believe this painting is a right of passage to painting😂. It was my first Art Sherpa tutorial to paint 3-4 years ago. I still see people posting it on Facebook. I this it can be considered a classic😁. Happy painting!🎨

So cool! My hubby bought me a bunch of art supplies for mother's day, because I suddenly had a desire to learn how to paint! candice bergstrom 8x10 is totally awesome! I would use them for the lesson to shorten the video time but they would be too hard to see. I get a lot of 8 x 10s and they all look awesome :)
