Roanoke, I humbly request you check out the Terrormorph from Starfield. I know the game isn't everyone's cup of tea, but the UC Vanguard questline for the Terrormorph is incredible compared to the rest of the game, and the Terrormorph's forced evolution and its ability to cause physical and auditory hallucinations sounds right up your alley.

Mad Cow Disease came from Scrapie. Scrapie infected sheep were fed either indirectly or directly to cows and when those cows died from the prion disease they were ground up and fed to the other cows which spread the infection. It’s pretty scary how it could have gotten out of hand, just thought that was interesting. I am so glad prion diseases in real life aren’t like the disease from the video games, that would be terrifying.

Normally, I'm the kind of person who says it's not worth becoming a monster just to save a few people. But if it's total extinction we're facing, all bets are off and everything is fair game to keep humanity alive. It will be a horrible time and I'd likely have nightmares for the rest of my life, but at least humanity would live on.
I would like to propose an alternate theory. Humans are very violent and are known to de-brain function each other fairly regularly. What if this is a general adaptation already present that had not activated yet. A gene that is in place to make sure that the there is survival of your tribe in times of war. That will seemingly reanimate the dead, to ensure mutual destruction away from the tribe and in that perspective battlefield. Something could have initially activated this gene in the environment like certain harmless radiations (radio waves, wifi, cell signal, or just weird ozone and sun stuff) that in regular doses is harmless but in bulk we just do not know yet, then is activated when saliva of those changed comes into contact with blood of the "not infected" Just a thought coming from a degree in science in IT, good vid as always bud.
This was epic! Just like the game. It would be awesome if you did a video on the "burster" from this same game. It seems to be the only zombie variant that is mentally still human to a certain extent as when they waddle towards you they say things like " I'm sorry" "help me" etc, like their body is hijacked and mentally they are still there for the ride, unable to take back controll and end it all they are forced to spread the disease and witness it all making me personally feel sorry for that variant of zombie.
