      PeugeotRocket ikr. People nowadays don’t have taste

    • @chippotato5647
      @chippotato5647 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      PeugeotRocket You know, you don’t have to take things so personally. If you like fancy cars, just go watch videos from channels that provide that content.
      Don’t waste your time in the comments section of videos like this, trying to defend your tastes to complete strangers. You’re not going to convince them of anything except “wow, this anime-avatar has some really thin skin if he’s getting wound up over THAT.”
      I know better than a lot of people, it’s very easy to just throw out a comment to respond to some dumb shit that someone’s saying. It feels good, at least for a moment, to just take a moment to clown on some stranger on the internet. But to be honest, maybe we should all consider doing something else whenever we get the hankering to do that.
      Maybe we should just let things slide.

    • @chippotato5647
      @chippotato5647 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      David Zuluaga I apologize for my initial response to your comment, but I’m still going to disagree with what you’re saying.
      The people that watch these videos appreciate regular cars, and you appreciate fancier sports cars. There are plenty of channels that review what you like to see. Why should you have to attack the people that want to see something different?

      Slow car fast is way more fun than fast car fast. Slow cars react more, and at much lower thresholds. If you fuck up in a late 90s Buick and put the car off the track, you're doing maybe 50 miles per hour. Fuck up in a 996 Porsche and put it off, you could be going double that, easily.

      @@PeugeotRocket I'm not a fan of the lexus ls400 series. Amazing cars very well built and just overall great. However I personally don't have a passion for them. I guess they are somehow TOO normal haha. I prefer the buicks, how they are round and large and quiet and just pleasant and comfy. The lexus also isn't the same type of luxury car as the buick. The lexus is a euro style luxury vehicle whereas the buick is a boulevard ride cruiser for driving long distances in comfort. They will just go and go and go. Also I would say hell no to them being way better than a buick park avenue. Perhaps equally good tho!
      If I wanted a "propper" luxury car I'd walk right past a lexus and go for a v8 mercedes w140 or w126

    I miss the 1990's American cars. For longevity, they actually started catching up with Japanese cars in quality (a Chevy Lumina was always good for 200K miles), then in the 2000's, they turned to crap. It was across the Big 3 too... They all needed major work in the early 100K range. As much as we make fun, the 1990's seemed like the last time American makers got their shit together (my Dad is on his 3rd late 90's S-10 because they run until 300k miles). I miss my wife's old Lumina, and I miss my old Dodge Shadow ES.

    My first ever car was a Park Avenue. First Generation. I had it in the mountains of rural Virginia. And I learned driving as an irresponsible 23 year old on those mountain roads what you learned on this track.
    I love the park ave. I loved flooring it and feeling, not just the accelleration, but this moment when it bites and you can feel the engine SUCKING THE SOULS OF DEAD DINOSAURS OUT OF THE ASPHALT. And since you've floored that engine, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
    It may just be a 4-speed automatic. But it roars satisfyingly, and you've got go when you need it.
    Thank you for reviewing this car. I miss it. I'm saving for another vehicle now... And it's either going to be another Buick Park Ave... or a Triumph Scrambler.
    I just need to decide how badly I need to parallel park.

    My most fond memory of our family's 92 Park Avenue Ultra was going home from my 10th birthday from Ryan's All You Can Eat... We stopped at a light in Riverstone and dad was being... dad... and he started revving at the lifted F150 next to us. The guy looked over and just chuckled at us, but then the light went green and we both gunned it and Dad just... left the guy behind. My sister and I waved at him from the back window as his chin was practically glued to his steering wheel, eyes wide in complete and total disbelief at what had just happened.

      The styling isn't there and it just wants to be like the Europeans and Japanese way to much. The 97-05 Park Avenue was pure Americana and even had throw backs to the 60s and 70's with its arching hind quarters, stand up chrome grill, and hood ornament. Yes they were emulating Jaguar some, but it was still very traditional American, something that doesn't exist in a sedan anymore. The LaCrosse is certainly not as ugly as say a Lexus or Acura or the first Gen LaCrosse, but the styling is just way to bland still, plus its too small.

    These 3800 engines are some of the best ever made, they're notorious for their low end power and impeccable reliability. My modded 2000 GTP supercharged coupe is running strong at 175k miles with the original transmission. Unfortunately the undercarriage and most of it's components are rusting to the point where the car maybe has a year left. New England winters have been tough on this thing. I bought it my junior year of high school in spring, 2011... Plenty of high school and college era adventures involved this car. It's going to be a really hard day for me when I have to get rid of it :(

      Alfred Valrie I also think it has quite a bit to do with the fact that '90s and '00s GM vehicles are some of, if not *the* most boring, average, regular cars that have or will ever be made. They lend themseves perfectly to the namesake of his channel.
      And this is definitely okay.

    Those 3800 series II engines are severely underrated and bulletproof! This GM 3.8 v6 was surprisingly quick, especially when supercharged.

      Nick B with a turbo they are so much fun! I'm building. 3800 series 3 for my 2002 firebird and I'm going to do 15psi of boost and 400hp minimum. Such underrated sleeper engine

      I had one in a 2000 Impala when I was 17. Thing would pull up to 120 no problem. And I never changed the oil as long as I had it, just added a quart every few months. It may be the combination of those two things that eventually blew the headgaskets, but the frame was so rusted, there wasn't much reason to care.

      Grand Prix GTPs have the super charged 3800 and are pretty fast with just a few mods.

    This was our Admin Car hand me down in Yuma, before I departed the desert Southwest. It was a 2003 model, I believe. Baby blue. I went to check it out, because my car was in the shop and when I opened up the vehicle file there was a clear plastic bag inside the file. Inside of this pouch were the keys and old fuel receipts. Also in this pouch was the hood ornament for the Buick. Like one day it just fell off and someone said, "It's a government car, we've got to keep everything that's falls off of the Buick." I found a neck chain, like the kind you keep dog tags on, and put the hood ornament on the chain. I went home for lunch and when I returned I walked into the office wearing an Adidas track suit, a gold chain, sunglasses, a fedora and the Buick hood ornament... No one in the office could believe it and I simply told them, "You've gotta take this thing out someday..." And then I walked away. I hope the Buick is still loved now that I am gone.

      My LeSabre was locked at speed limit on the highway, but over the limit in mountain roads.
      Going fast straight is boring, but lateral Gs are awesome.
