I’ve got mixed feelings about phone calls being displayed at the pill. It is cool cause if you don’t want to answer the phone you can just continue doing what you want, on the other hand though when you actually want to answer the phone it is harder to reach and in some cases it might be harder to hit the right button
Apple is a master of giving you stuff you don't need, and wanted, with a touch of midas. Was not a fan of this iLand (lol) but got the 14 Pro anyways cause I'd to update from my 7 Plus. After a few months of usage, now I love and use the Dynamic Island.
Btw if you’re using Apple maps on the top left it will have an arrow to show which way to turn. While the right side displays how many miles the upcoming turn is away from you. Only on Apple Maps currently offers this feature.
I hope the Dynamic Island never goes away. It’s a great feature with a lot of uses. Sure a hole punch camera would be less “unobtrusive” but that’s just boring, basic, and no fun like the notch. The Island was a great idea that actually makes the top of your iPhone as useful place.

They will probably remove it eventually, but the Dynamic island will probably stay. There is not really any functional use to the space where the notch currently is which is why we have the Dynamic island in the first place.

I’ve had this device for 2 days and I’m upgrading from the 12 pro max, which IMHO had some serious glitches. So for me, it’s been insanely fast very smooth and one thing I can agree on, the pill “cutout” while watching media is distracting: I almost wish they could engage the pixels between the 2 cutouts so it would be less distracting. Other than that yea wow

@@evilstreamerBut there’s nothing in the UI that’s close enough to the notch for that to even happen. How often do you accidentally touch the notch by mistake on an iPhone 13 or older? Probably not often.
Androids can fix that problem, dynamic spot can use 2 notifications/actions at once, and it has more customize options For iPhone it just ignores the timer lol

The Dynamic Island is just a good idea and software integration. But what we don't have to forget is the Pill-Shaped Cutout wich is still intrusive and it is going more down on the display than the previous notch, hiding more content when using fullcreen games or whatching full screen videos and it is really annoying. Another thing is not working is when you use the Dyamic Island when using the phone in Landscpe mode< Even some Android phone makers will copy the Dynamic Island, It will be possible to activate the function in Landscape Mode. THis will not be possible with iPhone coz the Dynamic Island is just to hide the Pill-Shaped Cutout.

Many androids have failed to implement their new features simply because developers cannot largely or entirely alter their android coding for just 1 type of phone in over 10000 types. For ios this problem doesnt exist.

In the phone app settings, you can switch between banner and full screen depending on your preference
