They will probably remove it eventually, but the Dynamic island will probably stay. There is not really any functional use to the space where the notch currently is which is why we have the Dynamic island in the first place.

I’ve got mixed feelings about phone calls being displayed at the pill. It is cool cause if you don’t want to answer the phone you can just continue doing what you want, on the other hand though when you actually want to answer the phone it is harder to reach and in some cases it might be harder to hit the right button
Btw if you’re using Apple maps on the top left it will have an arrow to show which way to turn. While the right side displays how many miles the upcoming turn is away from you. Only on Apple Maps currently offers this feature.

I’ve had this device for 2 days and I’m upgrading from the 12 pro max, which IMHO had some serious glitches. So for me, it’s been insanely fast very smooth and one thing I can agree on, the pill “cutout” while watching media is distracting: I almost wish they could engage the pixels between the 2 cutouts so it would be less distracting. @@evilstreamerBut there’s nothing in the UI that’s close enough to the notch for that to even happen. How often do you accidentally touch the notch by mistake on an iPhone 13 or older? Probably not often.
Apple is a master of giving you stuff you don't need, and wanted, with a touch of midas. Was not a fan of this iLand (lol) but got the 14 Pro anyways cause I'd to update from my 7 Plus. After a few months of usage, now I love and use the Dynamic Island.

Me personally I am not into iPhones I find androids more customisable if you learn the software but this year's iPhone was so bad (in terms of changes) that many people I know that get almost every apple product every year told eachother to skip this one since the 15 will be getting a type c charger

@@Akasahmed eh... its a good idea while not an awesome idea, you see, it does get in the way off many games and videos, unless the games actually try to implement the island to their software it will be a really annoying part of a great phone, they need to get rid of it, but the problem is that they will not and actually will make other phones try to implement it while making the gaming expericience really annoying. I mean, as an actual feature is ok and nice, but as implementation to other daily life situations it will be annoying to deal with, we will have to see how the new phone developers will do, since some times they dont listen to their customers and go and copy what customers say that apple is doing wrong and making their phones even worse

I'm pretty sure software houses will tweak their softwares to go with the new feature since they know apple sticks to its features for a considerable term.

Many androids have failed to implement their new features simply because developers cannot largely or entirely alter their android coding for just 1 type of phone in over 10000 types. For ios this problem doesnt exist.

In the phone app settings, you can switch between banner and full screen depending on your preference
