In all probability, those cars have air suspension. When moving, the air springs (or shocks) are pumped up to give safe clearance. They're only bled off when the car's parked.
Nice video good music that was freaking awesomeI don't think any of us could have sit still to any of that music or any of those cars that was definitely Americana at its best God bless USA it's still the best place on Earth to be believed it or leave it 😎
These are all beautiful cars....that Caddi @ 2:53 is amazing...love that car @ 3:37 as well.....and theres just something about the 50 Mercury's and the 50s Buicks.....style..class...
There was a guy that passed my house numerous times driving a black 1950 Merc convertible with all Corvette running gear. It sat just right hugging the ground and was ten times better looking than anything that I've seen in magazines. He had a few other classic cars as well.
If you go to the Lone Star Roundup in Austin, Texas in the spring, you'll see cars like this, from mild to way over the top, and hear great bands too. Excellent show, I go every year. They also have a swap meet with car parts and memorabilia, a room of vintage clothing, mini bike races, local food trucks...it’s well worth the trip!
Roger Keck...My old man (husband) had one back in the day, "an old used off the rack, standard piece of shit that was top-heavy." On a paved road through a swamp somewhere In Alabama, on an "easy curve," he rolled the Merc. No one got seriously hurt, one guy cut himself on broken glass when crawling out. What makes this a memorable story is that the guys were rescued by a Volkswagon full of young black guys, four or five., to the rescue of three whites . This was in the late 1950's, (1958?) .Your Merc comment reminded me of all this, kinda brought tears to my eyes.
@@janettgrady2394 > Mine was a '51 convertible. I don't remember it ever feeling top heavy. But all converts of that era had a big HEAVY X-shaped stiffener added to the frame at the factory. That stiffener effectively lowered the CG. Coupes and 4-drs didn't need the stiffener because the welded roof served the same purpose.
@@recentlychanged "Top heavy" was the old man's reasoning, but who knows, could have been a million reasons...driver error, probably. But the rest of the story did happen. and thanks to the black guys, nothing bad came of the accident, no cops and no cost for their called tow truck...the tow-truck gas station kept the wrecked car and the station owner, a black guy, drove the guys back to civilization. Thanks for the reply, and for the info. I know little or nothing about cars...but I loved the front-seat thing. Today's cars really suck. Back in our day, guys could keep cars running, not so today, cost a small fortune to get one fixed.
@@janettgrady2394 Yeah, big bench seats. Good for "cuddling". Or did you mean something else? As far as keeping them running, I've found that the smaller repairs are a whole lot easier on cars built after '95 due to OBDII which is the advanced self-diagnosis system every brand is equipped with. However, major repairs are more complicated because of the cramped spaces and myriad of things to disconnect and/or remove just to get access.
@@recentlychanged Thanks for the response, Hon. Yes, "cuddling" is a polite way to put it, I suppose, but I've never been accused of being polite. Bluntly put, the bench seat of old gave us girls easy access to every man's desire for some "highway delight," hand job, blow job, or whatever, while zipping along at 50-100 mph, and we girls loved it. As for mechanics, my boyfriend back then kept his 55 or 56 Crown Victoria running like a top, at one time, he had the engine in parts all over my Dad's driveway. He loved that damn car more than me, so we broke up...last I heard, he still had the damn thing. Thanks for the reply, Hon. Getting old kinda sucks.I love talking sex, cars, Elvis, and the good old days. .
The 50s hotrods had it all.
Rock and cars, simple and happy people of the 50's return back to the future...the best forever...wonderfull...Richard from Argentina...

Super ✊️👍
Some of these cars are nuts! The bodywork is scraping along the ground.
I noticed that too. All the hard work done to the cars for it to be damaged on the first drive
