  • Christians are dual citizens: heavenly citizens and democratic citizens. Can Christianity’s vital influence on American democracy gain relevance among citizens? What can Christians do to be good citizens who boldly live, think and lead lives of influence for Christ?
On October 3, 2024, Cornerstone University welcomed four distinguished national panelists:
Dr. Kristin Collier, director of Michigan Medicine's program on Health, Spirituality and Religion
Michael Wear, CEO of the Center for Christianity & Public Life
Dr. Marvin Olasky, author, educator, and former editor of WORLD Magazine
Gabe Lyons, a best-selling author and president of THINQ Media
Moderator: Dr. Gerson Moreno-Riaño, president of Cornerstone University
Our distinguished guest panelists explored how Christians could live out a faithful, authentic Christianity within an American democracy whose demands can periodically be at odds with the Christian faith. In addition, they helped us consider a possible model for political engagement that is faithful to an authentic Christianity and advances an American democracy that is focused on the flourishing of all of its members.
