Hi Gareth, The video specifically states that it's the same engine as the MT-07 with only minor ECU tweaks. The 'longer stroke' reference was in comparison to other bikes in its class. Hey Gareth, yes we acknowledged in our previous reply that we can see how it can be interpreted the way you did. You are right that it can be confusing so apologies for that. Why are Americans so freaked out about electrical parts or problems with electronics? Looking at US based car review sites on TH-cam it's the same in the comment section. Oh no, electronics....break doooowwwnnnn.... You're more likely to have mechanical problems or punctures than electrical issues. I've had cars for decades now and not one had an issue with the electronics. All of them eventually had mechanical issues that required attention. It all boils down to properly made parts.

Fuel injected, decent offroad suspension, and a nearly bulletproof engine (water cooled this time please) that i don't have to treat like motocross bike. Keep it under 400 pounds and keep it simple. Ktm is looking more and more attractive. Please don't make me go orange.
Same boat here. I still have my 2000 XR650R with a plate and haven’t found anything to replace it yet. Tried WR450F, KTM 1090, FZ07 and I sell them all and keep this. And as he mentioned, you can do 4th gear wheelies on that, just no electric start sucks
Stiffer springs. Better fork oil. DONE
@@RedEmpire36 its called a crf450l
"please don't make me go orange" lmao
what part of so cal are you fellas in? in this video.
That’s what I love about the Yamaha T7 👍KTM Honda way too much electronic mumbo-jumbo stuff I’m not interested in🇨🇦
Good review. I think a dry sump with a lower engine and hence, fuel tank would have been a better design.
No such bike will take a really fast pace beating on large rocks..avoid them ,slow down or go around...!!!!...I did some pretty rough long jumps on trails (20 m)...and this fork took it like a chief and kept excellent trajectory ,especially on sandy trails...
Looks like a great bike.
Hello, you are wrong it is not a longer stroke engine than MT-07, nice video tho'.
Hi Gareth, The video specifically states that it's the same engine as the MT-07 with only minor ECU tweaks. The 'longer stroke' reference was in comparison to other bikes in its class. Reading your comment, we can see how it might be interpreted that way though. Thanks for the input and glad you liked the video!
@@ADVPulseVideos Aha - sorry when he says, when comparing engine to MT-07 'They put in a longer stroke engine in this' I assumed you were saying 'they put in a longer stroke motor in this' because you didn't mention any other 'bikes in this class' when you said it. Understood, but hey, just admit it is misleading... c'mon guys we all say the wrong things sometimes, no issue !
Out of interest, which other 700 parallel twin adventure were you referring to with a shorter stroke ?
Hey Gareth, yes we acknowledged in our previous reply that we can see how it can be interpreted the way you did. You are right that it can be confusing so apologies for that. An example of an adventure bike in this class is the KTM 790 ADV that has a shorter stroke of 65.7mm compared to 68.6mm for the Tenere engine, despite being 110cc larger.
You just sold me a bike XD going from San Diego to tijuana dayli, I wanna save my precious vstar 1300.
I thought those had cruise control

Welcome to our channel and thanks for the support!
I'm a novice rider who rides Hero Xpulse 200 adventure bike which doesn't have traction control. I guess traction control isn't much of a need, is it?
Not on an Xpulse 200 lol.
If you ride a powerful motorcycle in the rain, it saves you a few scares or falls...
Is it good for 160's cm tall person ?
That exhaust mount tho
You are 5-10 man
Ha, dude I know exactly where this was filmed. I used to live in Crestline. That trucker you passed (possibly on the 138?) was definitely lost, no trucks at all are allowed on that road. too tight.
You are correct Mr. President :) That was in the real twisty part of Highway 138. He did look kind of lost!
@@ADVPulseVideos when are we gonna see a 2021 R1250GS?? Would love that review, I’m thinking of getting one. Had an Africa twin for 300mi. Not kidding. I was on the 330 near Running Springs breaking in the motor to get ready for a trip to WA that summer and I was rear ended by a VERY old man when I was at a standstill in construction. After I got the insurance check, I never got another ADV. Dying to get another
@@charkswitlazers Man, that is messed up. Hope you weren't seriously hurt from that accident! Sorry to hear you barely had a chance to enjoy the Africa Twin. There always seems to be some construction on 330. We tested the 2019 R1250GS but haven't had a chance to wrap a leg around the 2021. So not going back to the Africa Twin?
The concept bike was cool. What it ended up being is a a Yamaha version of a fuel injected KLR lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Why are Americans so freaked out about electrical parts or problems with electronics? Looking at US based car review sites on TH-cam it's the same in the comment section. Oh no, electronics....break doooowwwnnnn....
You're more likely to have mechanical problems or punctures than electrical issues. I've had cars for decades now and not one had an issue with the electronics. All of them eventually had mechanical issues that required attention.
It all boils down to properly made parts.
Maybe in future reviews - pls measure/declare the Squat/Sag %'s for this riders weight - the rider we are watching? settings used? Sqat? - otherwise, any suspension comments are meh. So many journalists - so little effort/knowledge. If you are 6"2 did you ask yamaha for the correct rear spring? anyway thanks - gave me something cool to watch on the rowing machine - cheers 👍
If there's one thing I hate about dirt/dual sports is changing the oil. This bike has an exterior street bike oil filter, and just the drain plug.
