I love those old machines. They were work horses and just went to work everyday. Plain and simple. The machines today suck because of all the computers and sensors that fail regularly.
How, in the name of god, are those tracks staying there, by gravity and or friction ? Surely, that set of 'new' tracks are not going to be wasted on that Cat ??
Ah ya just got to love a 2 goofs for the price of one video L.O.L. There's always something fun going on when you guys get together. I bet if that machine had a couple weeks in the shop during a quite time, Put the tracks on, and sort a few things. Then do something with the windows and paint it she'd go another 20 years and still be a good machine. $10.000 for tracks, I was pissed I had to buy 2 seal kits and a load of oil for $250.00 for my machine. Now it needs 2 hoses on the extender hoe that are weeping that will take care of most of the oil I put in last time changing them !. Thanks for sharing the Chris and Justin adventure.
I run the H pattern controls in my skidder and it broke down and the rental only had pilot controls, I feel your pain on the backwards controls. I was all over the place for a day or so.
OK so the tracks are held on by gravity and it's just a little worn, but she seems to run just fine, so with some TLC and those new tracks, still got some good life left! How many hours are on it? I bet there's a good story behind this one!
Chris i want to see you demo a Mecalac excavator. Seen a video from the Conexpo and it looks pretty interesting. like everything there are pros and cons and i think you would give it a real world on site review.
Chris, when you need a new farm excavator, I hope you get an old 200-series. Oh maybe a Poclain era Case (yes I know, slow as balls). That would make for some cool videos.
Just a couple of "Good Ole Boys" Plain' witt der "Good Ole Toys"! Chris, didn't yer cousin NASCAR Bobby teach you nuffin? Never go nowhere witt out "200 mile an hour TAPE"! A nice little two foot long strip of 2 inch duct tape and that side door will stay closed until the south rises again.
