Twelve Stars visited Corydon, Indiana to film an interview with James Best, who portrayed Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane in the original Dukes of Hazzard series. This is the eighth part of 11 that will be released every Tuesday on our TH-cam channel.
I took my sons to a car show here in Louisville, KY in 2004 and James Best, Ben Jones, and Sonny Shroyer were there. My son's favorite at the time was Enos so I was very excited to meet him with them. When we got to the front of the line Sonny's security stopped us because we hadn't bought his merchandise and Sonny wouldn't even look our way. James Best saw what happened and stood up and came over to us in full character. He said I'll sign anything you want and if people don't like that I'll cuff 'em and stuff 'em. So glad I got that on video, Mr. Best was a total class act!
James Made the show! There's no way some writer could've come up with such a perfect character.

I'm glad I got to meet James Best I only lived about 25 miles from where he lived went to see him at a play in Hickory North Carolina took a few pictures and got to talk a few minutes I could tell he was a good person I've seen him a year before he passed away God bless James best and his family

He was my favorite cop on the show and so was flash his dog
James Best was really great. He never lost his touch. Sometimes I think that if he would have been a real sheriff that the bad guys would be in big trouble
Classic Show 1 of a kind
His last words on this part faded..."classic, classic, classic". I think he misses Sorrell as those 2 were best friends in The dukes as they were in life.
He was actually older than boss hogg...facts

OBSCURE FACT: Sorrell was the narriator of a multi-vinyl set of a documentary on the NASA SPACE CENTER called "To The Moon' in his 'regular' voice. RECORDS
