They say you learn something new everyday. I learned two new things today. First, I learned what Milo was. I never heard of it before. We didn't grow Milo where I farmed in Indiana. Secondly, I learned what a "row header" was. I never heard of that, either. Thanks for another interesting & informative video, Hayden!😊 Mr. Jack in TX.
I live just a few miles east of the self-proclaimed "Seed Corn Capital of the World," Constantine, MI. Being that seed corn is our #1 crop, commercial corn, soybeans, wheat, potatoes, hay, and other crops round out the acreage here. Lots of center-pivot irrigation. In the 80's, the row-crop heads were the ultimate tool to harvest 30" row soybeans. Since most of the bean acreage is now 15" rows or narrower, I haven't seen that style of head in years !
Evening Hayden, watching this interesting stream here in England, I've never seen or heard of Milo before, what is the main usage of this grain and how much of this is grown.
@royl9858 we have milo fingers at home, but it’s honestly doing a good enough job without them that we do not plan on using them. If it will work without them, it’s so much easier to turn with them off.
If you are spooking some pheasants that would be a great shot with your video camera...or deer, or coyotes maybe turkeys, whatever game runs/flies off as you approach.
Really liked your informative commentary today. Like watching something new, rather than corn harvest. Show us some pics of the seeds. John T. 😊😊😊

You need a set of milo fingers to clip on this header to save more heads!

Milo is a hot choclate malty drink here usually add milk.
I never heard of milo. Is it like corn, soybeans, or wheat?
What is Milo? I know some of the different grains you combine. But don't know what Milo is
Milo is sometimes referred to as “grain sorghum”…we raised it in central Kansas when I was growing up. We ground it and fed it to hogs.
"Dibs"
Ok, I called him "Digs" in an earlier post. Sorry Dibs...
