I have wondered in the past if Ren might have been referring, at least in part, to how much he misses his friend Joe Hughes (who took his life in 2010). Who knows ? Perhaps it was simply intended as a love song for everyone who misses someone - and it is such a beautiful song. Definitely my favourite from The Big Push and certainly one of my favourites from Ren

Arundel is in West Sussex, also a beautiful place. Not far from Brighton. Ren is from Angelsey, I believe? I forgot which village.

I believe Ren wrote this after his friend sadly took his own life, but you can apply it to any lost love, its such a brilliant song.
