@@petergoodwin2465 Absolute bargain, you gotta be happy with that! Shouldn't cost too much to rebuild the diff, still a huge win. Haha yeah, they are addictive. Another garage is always good! 😁👍
Nice job 👌 I wasn't sure about the window tint but it does suit the navy blue and makes it look classy. Like your trick to hang on to the slippery little buggers!.🍻🦘🇦🇺
Thanks mate. I think I may have gone one coat too much on the window. I think it looks classy too, wouldn't look right without it. I didn't have any at the time, but I'm thinking lump of Blu-Tack on the lid to hold the body would be a better option than the double sided tape. 👍
Itll be interesting to see how much of the body mount posts are left on it. Ive had TT's in the past and using magnetic posts in the past have meant ive had to be really brutal in cutting them down. Nice paintwork, thanks for sharing.
I don't think there will be much left of the posts at all. The posts on my Lowride Pumpkin are very short too. I'm wondering if I may have to even cut some off the bottoms of the magnetic posts. We'll see I guess. Thanks mate! 🙂👍
Turned out perfect, mate! My favourite part is always when you peel off the protective film, or the "reveal" as I call it! Never looks as good as that again - well, after the first run, anyway! Beautiful model, the Ghia, it's gonna be awesome when it's finished. All the best, mate! :-)
Thanks Mark. I had planned to do the "reveal" nice and slow but I could tell it wasn't gonna play nice right from the start, so I sped it up. I hear ya mate, they only look "mint" once. We'll be very careful with in on it's first run, but who knows? We might end up at the BMX, sending it! 😂🤣. Thanks mate! 👍
Thanks mate. I agree, it can be hard to see. Maybe try holding the body up to the light or against a white background, maybe even paint white on the outside of the windows first (on the protective film of course lol). I was having trouble seeing it here too and my light was too bright, was making me blind. 😂
Thanks and thanks for your support! I'm hoping to have the video out this week for the body mounts, they took forever to come from China but are finally here. The radio we're using is a Futaba T2HR transmitter, Futaba R203GF receiver and a Power HD 3001HB servo. 👍
I have had problems with applying the smoke paint. Why? It is usually much darker than I wanted. Remember that the body will sit on the chassis which does not have much light. That means it will look darker than you might think.
That's a nice looking kit Mick, is it rear wheel drive? I remember there was an M06 RX-7 which is discontinued now, pretty sure it was rear wheel drive.
Thanks mate. It sure is rear wheel drive. I have the Lowride Pumpkin which is also an M06, great fun to drive but really needs oil shocks. I'll upgrade them both at a later date to oil shocks and maybe some other goodies. Shame the RX7 is discontinued, but there are a few manufactures making RX7 bodies. So I'm thinking some RC RX's will be on will be on my shopping list in the near future! 👍
Question for you? Im at the esc install part and noticed the kit came with a brushed motor with 2 connectors, 1 yellow, 1 green, the kit came with Tamiya brushless esc with yellow, blue and orange motor connectors, how do connect the motor, do i only connect 2 on each side and keep one unplugged? The directions seem spotty or maybe its just me, any help would be great. TIA
@@mitemluh No probs! A good rue of thumb is light colours to light colours, dark to dark. EG: If your motor had red and black wires it would be black to blue, red to yellow. Of course it's more confusing when they throw an orange (in this case unused) wire into the mix. 🤣
Can´t wait to see the finished model! I agree, body mounts look ugly especially on small but beautiful cars like this one. I also used magnets to connect the body to the chassis on my model. th-cam.com/video/vefCMRWulWE/w-d-xo.html
Great idea with the body shell holder.
Thanks mate. 🙂👍
Great looking rc. The body came up awesome. Great job
She did a great build and you did an awesome paint job.
Thanks mate. She loves building them but flat refuses to paint them. 🤣
That looks Mickey Mouse 👍
Love a freshly painted and touched body they just pop!
Thanks for sharing Mick👍🤓🇦🇺
Thanks Paul. Oh yeah, can't beat that look of when the film first comes off! 🙂👍
Looks great better than a real one. Great tips again thanks mate.
Thanks mate. Hopefully the body mounts turn up this week so it can be finished.

The car is looking great. Body looks amazing.

That's right, there is less light with the body on. I'm hoping I didn't go too dark, I think it will be fine. 🙂👍
@@RCHobbyShed When you mount the body you will find out if it is too dark. I hope it is not. Nice build!!
Good job! It was pretty cool to be with you through the whole paint process. Painting inside?

The orange wire is for brushless motors, so leave that one unplugged.
