7:23 - actually, you can align this line in the Outline mode to the existing shape, than just press Enter with the Selection tool active and move it HALF a stroke weight to the left, that's it:) Great tutorial, anyway! Thanks!
Lovely, a question plz when client asks you not to use a font because the logo to be unique , is the best solution to handwrite it than scan it to trace, or can you use font but customize it ?
Thanks for the great tutorials! Might be a dumb question. But what us the aim of expanding when you placed that final block to separate the d and f? Would uniting it there without expanding do the same thing?
Hey Meow Mix, you can sometimes unite shapes together without the need to expand. However, if you're totally happy with a shape and ready to move ahead with the design, expanding first can sometimes avoid potential issues further down the line when uniting/combining shapes together.
all perfect, thanks for your tutorial. maybe can you put the keys combination? just for impruve the abilities and be more practicle. Greetings from Colombia (Y)
please tell me, what workspace are you using. When I use "essential" it almost complete tools that I need, but it have not a "unite two elements" tools ( sorry I forgot the name wkwkwk )
A little tip, in the preferences, you can change the amount of increments your elements moves by pressing the arrow keys. It's way more precise that way than with the mouse !
I am new to Illustrator, I followed every step but when I had to click the pathfinder option, all the logo turns "filled", I don't understand why lol I suggest you do a troubleshoot video for us dummies .. I love your videos, they help a lot, thank you ..
test2 test4 as I recall, when creating an I lllustrator file you can't select a pixel density. (you can from version 21, CC17 but that's more like a default export setting) illustrator uses vector graphics that are infinitely scalable. Only once exporting your artwork you set a pixel density. In most cases you'll need 300DPI, for smaller web elements 72 is sufficient.
At 2:52 - I'm having trouble deleting the anchor points. I've noticed that my anchor points are displaying on the outside of the shape as opposed to being centered. It's making the circle large, as another commenter had mentioned. Any idea of how I can fix this?
thank you dansky for the tutorial, but question i have done everything you say to do, but when i try to merge it together my image changes to a weird shape, but i not sure what i did wrong
I can't align the line with the logo outline as shown on 8:14, as even using a free hand with the selection tool (black arrow) the edge snaps either outside or inside the desired place. Is there anyway to sort this out?

Hey Bel, if you were looking to keep the outlines instead of fill. Try going to "Object --> Expand" and see if this helps :)
had the exact same problem...
Sounds like you may have a fill as well as a stroke. When you expand Object, deselect Fill and see if that helps.
Great Work...
U are the best !!!
thank you very much ♥
You're welcome Omar :)
Okay so the way he was deleting the sections of the circles....that can only be done in cc right? Bcuz I don't think that works with my cs6 =/
