I still remember my first encounter with that damn double dragon fight in the jungle's lava cave. It was by far the hardest thing I had to do at that point and this song playing in the background made it feel so ominous and dangerous. It isn't even a boss fight, just a mandatory and difficult fight to get the lava walking boots.
One thing that really bugs me about... actually almost all RPGs is their music selection. Specifically, how they may have a different music track for every single area, but use the same regular battle theme throughout the entire game. It's a relic of back when it was very difficult to program in a music selection for complicated battle events, but nowadays, there's just no excuse for it. I'm glad that EBF4 breaks the mold and has nearly as many battle songs as it does other songs.
Would have been even cooler if they’d had area-specific battle themes but what they have is infinitely better than a ton of other games of this style. To morph this into a complaint would be completely unfair.
I love hearing the same battle music for an 100+ hour RPG game, definitely doesn't get boring at all. Yeah thank god there are various battle themes in this game to keep it from sounding repetitive.
I mean there's still an excuse. Cost. I know a friend who put a game onto steam and still hasn't even covered the music costs (the only production cost he had in outsourcing). Then you have From the Depths that though not music related only broke even after like 5 years of being released.
No clue if this is a hot take or not... But this is the best standard battle theme in the series. It's so catchy and the Van Al Tag motif, it's so perfect.
I already passed through the game once on easy... but the music, the story and pretty much everything is so epic... so I decided that my goal from now on is to get every achievement in the game, and I'm playing on epic difficulty right now. :)
@@theotv5522 Sorry about that, I didn't know if you were referring Phyrnna as a character or in real life. Thinking about it, I could totally get behind the ship between Matt and Phyrnna's character.
Right outside the final boss should be a golden dragon head enemy group on the map, contains 2 waves: (1 Gold Dragon, 2 Ancient Monoliths) (1 Gold Dragon, 1 Red Dragon, and 1 Black Dragon) respectfully. That group has this music. Trust me, I grinded on that guy for hours. 4k AP, 20K gold... err... LOTS of exp (don't know the count)...only 1 screen away from slime cat teleporter... pretty great grind spot. Hope this helps get yer fill in-game!
It was a different and faster version of "Derelict Factory of Twisted Metal" if you're mentioning that. It sounds the same in this video as the one in the game to me.
This sounds a lot different than the version I remember from the game. Have there been any changes, or have parts of the music been unveiled through a simple increase in quality? Looking back at the soundtrack in-game, it sounds more macho but (because?) of poorer quality.

@@JarheadATLAS Idk, this was over 3 years ago. I guess it's because the wording of your original comment? Or maybe I was just dumbfounded at the idea of a song being a remix of another song somehow ruins it.
Matt has some mad guitar skills
Considering he never actually played the guitar (and doesn't really know how to hold it), yes those are some mad skillz
He doesn't even know how to play it. He used (Phyrnna's) guitar AS A SWORD. He just whacks the ground and great music pops out.
