I picked up the Hero 7 Black in Sept 2019 right as the 8 was coming out for a trip to Maui. Sad part is I forgot that actual cage and all I had was a clear water case so my audio was muffled the whole trip but at least I could mount it. I couldn't believe I left such a critical part at home. It's been great for our limited family on the go footage. My son was just given a GoPro 3 and I figured I should just try to get a few bucks for it and buy at least another 7 for him to gain a touchscreen and stabilization. Just bought a used one for $100 last night with 64gb card,some basic harnesses and 3 batteries/w charger. Glad to see how well it still does compared to the newer models. In my opinion that cage is overall a positive for the Hero 7 for me as I like having the corner protection from drops. It is harder to get access to ports though but I'll take the added protection. Thanks for the recent update video on the 7.

I generally like to shoot in a flat color profile with all my cameras. This allows for slightly more dynamic range. In this video, I used different cameras like Gopro and Sony. So I try to adjust the white balance and colors of each clip to try match them. In most of my videos, I like to add some contrast, color, and sharpness, and then lower the highlights and shadows. Of course, this all depends on the lighting conditions and camera setting. I'm still learning, but I try not to go overboard as I've made that mistake in previous videos. @@Squidpaws- Im now considering buying one. But I've seen lots of GoPro Hero 7 black videos years ago talks about the freezing issue and other bugs. How's your gopro holding up? Did the firmware update fix all the problems?
@@dannylu6230 to be honest I'm still having some freezing issues. It definitely got better after the firmware update, but I still occasionally have to pull the battery. I have the same issue with my Hero 9 Black. I think these bugs have mostly been resolved in the 10 and 11. If you can get the Hero 7 Black for a good price, its still an awesome little camera, even with its quirks.
I completely agree. Unless you can find the GP7 for a good deal or even used, it's definitely better to spend the extra money on a newer GP. It's nice to know that GP7 holds its value for such a long time.
It's not bad at all. About 1 hour in 4k@25fps, and 40min in 4k@50fps with hypersmooth stabe on. 1080p goes alot longer... This depends of course on the air temperature and certain settings. I have had it overheat/freeze during long recordings, and having to pull the battery. Switching off audio beeps and screen also helps slightly.
