Back when I was a wee lad one of my buddies brothers had a new F150 pinstriped like that red one, his was black with white pinstriping and red interior if I remember correctly. 400 auto had a factory hd suspension and white wagon wheels with bigger tires. It would roast all four tires when locked in 4x4. He traded it four a black and silver bronco and lifted it
Thank you for coming back to watch! Yes sadly I believe you're right on that. Buyer #30 in the safety green coat was the the scrapman I feel. I was behind him while squaring up. He spent $5600. One just has to bid to win!
@WoodyFixit ye you have to find something you want to rebuild. Set your price In your head and stop there if goes higher. You can not bid and buy from scrap man. Check out Adventures made from scratch. Very informative. Same type video. 👍👍🇬🇧✌️
Good name David W, the bidders were tire kickers at this auction though it helps all parties if the vehicles for sale have clean titles instead of might have titles lol
I live in lima, have been applying to tank plant trying to get a job there..back in 95-08 i made the drive down the road midwest auto is on almost daily..was always curious about what they had there but never investigated. ..i think i put a radio in that blue caddy for a lady i worked with back in 99 (guess it could have been anyone's blue caddy..would have been cool to get a clance inside lol)
I totally agree Randy! If I'd had the room to store it all I'd have bought it. Great items my flea Bay store. I guess I could have bought the $5 semi box trailer for storage 😆.
i almost cried watching this video knowing i could have been there, had i known .can you tell me how you found out about this auction? If any of the GTO buyers are reading this and want to sell please post a comment thanks
This place is about 15 miles west of me. Owner of the body shop I worked at back in the early to mid 90's would get parts from here occasionally. The fit and finish of these Taiwan parts were terrible. I remember spending a lot of time trying to get a decent fit on Tempos, Escorts, Berettas, Cavaliers, etc., especially at the A pillars. The scrap guys made out on this auction. As for the cars, anyone from northwest Ohio that's ever restored a vintage car, knows the hardest thing on them is to be left outside, in the elements, year-round, especially under trees. Some of those wouldn't even make decent parts cars. Even the GTO'S (most desirable of what I seen, besides the '65 Impala), looked to have been sitting there 30+ years. Under those conditions, for that many years, floor and trunk pans are nothing but a memory. If the frames were any good, it would be a miracle. I wonder how many broke in half when moved? I had heard about this auction, decided against going. I'm glad I did.
I did a few Chevy square bodies with those imported parts and remember all of them needing to be sliced, and heated and beated to fit. I mean they worked, but you had to make them work. Floors, rockers, cab corners, fenders, all of it took a lot of patience.
I live in Columbus, where was this auction at? Not that I would have went and bought anything, I have a Maverick Grabber and Ranchero to do, just curious?
@bad74maverick1 Lima Ohio. Check on marketplace. Set the location for Findlay Ohio. I just looked the other day and the guy that bought a bunch of it has then listed cheap.
@@WoodyFixit I'll bet they are almost completely gone as far as restoration goes and he's trying to recoup. I have spent 20 years looking for good 1960 Ranchero quarters for mine.

Thanks for the video. Basicaly all sold for scrap. Looks like a lot going strait to the crusher. It was a free market. Anybody could bid. 👍🇬🇧✌️

For me, the best buy was that 76 Trans am hood and fenders ! Great buy 👌
GTO AND A PARTS CAR FOR 1K. VERY VERY VERY AMAZING DEAL!!
Pretty wild how high those late model scrap cars sold for, but those GTO's went so cheap!
converters and aluminum

Hello David W! Yes a missing title is even a problem for the scrapman in some states as recyclers require it to prevent theft.

$500 GTO's? I wish I was at that auction, I hope those cars get restored
I agree with you.
I like auctioneers that dont mess around, start it low and go!
I agree. The Trans Am parts perfect example: "Have a look. You decide. I know what it is but I'm not gonna tell ya. Give me $5..."
@@WoodyFixit That '70-'76 Trans Am hood alone was worth 500-700.00 if it was straight and rust free.
@@valricogarcia The hood looked good. The fenders did have some rust through on the lower end.
Beautiful deal gto
All those taillights and grills were a steal

How do you guys find out auction was on AuctionZip??
Thanks for posting

Dang I wish I was at that auction...Giving stuff away!
There were some good buys. I think that blue Cadillac was a steal. Not my cup of tea but it would have cleaned up nicely for a flipper.
@WoodyFixit that old Truck! Great parts truck for a Rat Rod
Oh for sure for sure! The day before this I had just picked up a car from the previous week. My trailer was still full.
Millions dallors of inventory sold for nickels and dimes. But you got to have a place to store it.
Exactly the reason I, and I'm sure most others were not buying.
Millions 😂

Wait a minute! Lima???? That's 20 minutes from me! When was this auction? I wish I knew about it.
It was 11/14 and 11/16/2024 two day sale. Sometimes I post where I'm going on the community tab though I didn't for this one.
That Grand Am which you showed was a '73 not '75 judging from the taillights. And 1973 was the first year for the Grand Am.
That is cool. First year car! Thanks for that info Ernie. Good stuff. I was 3! 😉
cars went way cheap but sad most of them laying on the frames in the dirt, are going to be just parts!!
It's sad but true. Time and the elements are not kind. Thanks for commenting!
Like to buy the Impala if would sell for parts
a lot of great panels
👍👍
Those gto and lemans would of been coming home with me
Great choice! I kept picturing the convertible GTO early in it's life as someone's pride joy. What a car!
Wow! All you bought was a quarter panel?
I haven't hit the big time yet! Lol no room to store. Stay tuned though for the next couple of weeks to see me buy!
That place was a gold mine.

@AlAllerton That's what I heard from several people. I used some back in the 90s on a '62 Galaxie and found them and thing

It was a unique opportunity. Would you have bid on something David?
@@WoodyFixit yes indeed. I would have loaded my van, and bought the bike too
That 82-86 Ford truck were from 80-86 ?
You're right for that generation. This one was 82 or later by the look of the grille. Thanks for clarifying that!
It's called slima not lima
5:37 lol, thanks for telling us!!lol.i think we would now traffic noise!!!lol
Captain obvious at your service! 😅 I may need to try different mic options. Thanks for watching.
@@WoodyFixit just giving you sh#t,love your chanel
Auctioneers really working it here. I’d at least go 5 $ increments..
I agree. They sold some fiberglass panels for $0.25. It made it feel like I was in the 1980s.
I would give hundred dollars for everything on thar
There given those cars away.
The convertible GTO 4 speed could have been worth some good money. The black '60 Edsel was my favorite but I like the oddball stuff.
Not giving them away. This is a Auction. People paying and clearing land in three days. Job done.
... *THEY'RE ... learn to spell ...
WHEN HE ASKED HOE MANY RACKS I WANTED.....ALL OF THEM..... 😂😂😂
That looks like a 70 chevelle quarter panel.
Thank you. I was thinking Chevy something as well. Maybe I should have bid the $2! 😉
I give 10 dollars for it you can by then running and driving in Kentucky Indiana
For hundred dollars
Thank you for the comments. I appreciate it.
🧐 🤔 😳
All junk, sat on the dirt ground for years. Glass and trim , that's it.
Except for the GTO, its all junk.
Time has definitely not been kind to them Tony.
