I sat in one of these vehicles at the CIAS in Toronto, and was absolutely astonished at the room in the interior. It was also the easiest vehicle to enter and exit. Ram did an excellent job with it.

I never thought I would say this, but the new Ram 1500 is a good-looking truck. I'm not a Dodge guy, but I have to call it as I see it and give credit where it's due.

Regardless of the fact that that Chrysler created the "Ram" brand to move their trucks to after they were acquired by Fiat, Ram came from Dodge and whenever anyone says Ram, most people think of Dodge. I understand you may be saying that it isn't a literal "Dodge" anymore, it doesn't change that it's a Dodge Ram to me. Same kind of situation where Dodge and Mitsubishi worked together to make the Dodge Dakota during a set amount of years and Mitsubishi brought us the "Raider". It may have been called a Mitsubishi Raider, but it was a Dodge Dakota. The literal sense isn't being referred to.
Also, I'm not the only one to feel this way. Former Ram Division President Fred Diaz stated, "Ram trucks will always and forever be Dodge's."

FCA THANK YOU for re-adding BUTTONS for heated seats!!! My #1 complaint about my Jeep is having to go into the screen menu to do it. Now if they'd only move them back ON THE SEATS where they belong like my 1999!

Hey Andre (sp?), thanks for the video. I like your reviews. If we gloss over the aesthetic changes and engine options (I don’t foresee many people investing in the e-Torque system), I think the real story here is those rear seats. It might seem like a trivial thing, but allowing them to recline as well as being the industry’s first HEATED & COOLED rear seats is an absolute game changer in how people are going to perceive owning a truck. Anyone who’s ever gone on a ski trip with friends knows how much it sucks to sit in the back bolt-upright for hours on end.
One thing that stood out to me though in Detroit was the quality of the buttons. I’d like you to discuss this in your future videos if possible. I found the centre control knobs and buttons to have a very cheap, plastic feel to them which is a contradiction to the direction they were going with this vehicle (e.g., it has 40% more leather than its competition, and the luxury rear seats). If I were to buy it, I’d be embarrassed how cheap they felt. What are your thoughts?

Ive been keeping my eye on the 19 and tried some researching on my own. No one has talked about the axle lock feature?! Is it a true locking rear now?! That’s one thing I miss from my Sierra and Silverado is a true locking rear, maybe it’s just that confidence and not all that necessary for a pavement queen. Keep the videos coming TFL; I love watching the Ike Gauntlet and my wife always makes fun of Andres accent!

  • @MichaelBrown-kk6ck
    @MichaelBrown-kk6ck 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Awesome! These improvements address almost all the reasons I'd consider getting an F350/450 over a RAM 3500. Very much hoping all these new features make it into the 2020/2021 RAM 3500 as I plan to buy one summer 2020.
Couldn't quite read the label but did it say 400W on the 115v outlet? That would be great as well, much more useful than the current 90W output.
Now if they'd only copy the Ford mirrors...

well at least they don't have engines falling out like Ford. And at least the doors can properly close unlike Ford. Not to mention the fact that the cab won't make contact with the bed. And they didn't have to add 200 pounds to the frame because of the aluminum failure bodies. GM has piston slap.com dedicated to them for a reason.

What's going on 5:20 to 5:30 with the view of the dash (not the new one, obviously) as Andre is talking about the coming hybrid system? The footage shows the tach and speedo in what looks to me a 0-60 run, but the speed goes up, then suddenly down, then up again as the tach flails around.

It has a little old durango pickup look going on with the doors. I like it with some trims but others not so much. We saw two models at the Cleveland Auto Show. Only the Rebel we could tough and get in. The interiors are awesome and I will say there exterior touches and added features that will make this truck last longer, but the styling isn't quite as good as the current truck. A lot of people were still looking at the 2018 models and not a huge amount of attention to the 2019 model. Not sure why.

This looks good,..but,....I wish I could have more confidence in the brand. Chrysler used to right up there,..now,...not so much, in my opinion only.
This RAM, on the other hand, I think, is saving FCA's bacon.

Joel Dale I believe it's an issue with those models equipped with column shifters. Something about them not properly locking out in Park and could shift into neutral or roll away even without a key or foot on the brake.

So they are still using the 5.7 and thats for the 2019. Is it true that by 2021 they will illuminate the v8 and go with turbos or is that bogus.

louis hernandez Yes, by 2021 all ram 1500's will have lights under the hood that run 24/7 and illuminate the hemi. It will be the most illuminated engine ever created.

Confirmed: 2021 Ram 1500 will have standard under hood RGB lighting. Additional 4 pin RGB HEADER included for seemless synchronization with aftermarket parts.
