I had to laugh out loud! This is so familiar to me from both sides of our family, mine and my husband's family. We lived this way while our children were growing up. Still do, and so do our children. Thank you for your practical tips!❤
So glad you have enjoyed this video. Paying some homage to my mom is fun. I have another video coming out on Sunday. I hope you will subscribe for more fun.
Thanks Diane going to try and make me a yarn hanger, going to try and make some kind of bias tape sleeve so I can put it in a mesh bag and throw it in the washer👍.
I just happened to find your channel, thank you for your very useful tips. It sounds like you had a great mother when you were growing up. You were truly blessed.
My mother lived her childhood through the depression. She was the youngest of 6 children. Her father left his family to find work to support them. My grandmother couldn't feed her children so they were all dispersed to different orphanages (poor houses). The stories my mother told me about that experience were heartbreaking. The girls were never allowed to undress to bathe. They had to line up and go in a tub of cold water with their nightgowns on. The nuns scrubbed them until they cried. There was one doll that sat up on a high shelf. Once a week the doll was taken down and each little girl was allowed to hold it for 5 minutes. Her father eventually returned to the family and gathered them together but times remained very hard throughout. My mother made sure that all 3 of her daughters grew up with dolls of their own. She never shared any of her hardships with us until much later in life. She was a saint of a woman and I still miss her every day.
I can remember my Dad would put alll the walnuts we picked up in the fall and spread them out in the gravel drive way then drive over them with his car until the outside peels were falling off, so much easier to shell that way😊
Had to chuckle. I keep a couple of Vicks VapoRub always...for exactly the same kind of reasons. Had forgotten about the safety pin....Gramma always did that. You now have a new subscriber. =)
Wonderful video, Diane! Your Mom sounds amazing. Those dusting slippers are great. I remember using Lestoil! (it sure does have a distinctive smell). Great tip with the tube sock and Vick’s vapo rub!

@@sharonp.6505 Thank you for sharing. Amazing story to tell. I feel some of us are paying homage to our mother saints. Long over due.
