WE use dried black currants a lot in our baking - in currant buns, scones, and they are lovely in hot porridge when they expand and become all juicy again. And the porridge must have cream and brown sugar!
@@AliHussain-li3cp Salaam Ali Keum. Do you know how to make porridge? Its very easy and a favorite winter breakfast in New Zealand and Scotland, where it comes from. My Scottish grandmother used to make it for us and we loved it. I don't know if you can get rolled oats where you are but if you can the instructions for making porridge are printed on the bag. But it's very easy and takes only a few minutes to make. You basically simmer the porridge in a pot and stir it often to make sure there are no lumps - add a teaspoon of salt when it's finished cooking and stir it in. The salt is very important as it adds to the final flavor. Then pour the porridge into bowls, one for each diner, and then add lots of brown sugar which melts into the hot porridge like caramel, then add as much fresh cream as you like. Just before cooking finishes you can add currants, or sultanas or raisins, or cooked mashed up apple or any fruit - if using apples add a sprinkling of cinnamon.......It's what we call a breakfast that "sticks to the ribs" meaning it keeps your tummy full for a long time😅
