Hunza and Skardu are never lush green, btw. The mountains are above the tree line, understandably so, as they're among the tallest in the world. But yes, it is certainly greener than it is in winter! And, as I've mentioned in another comment below, spring is short but magical in the whole region. The area has an unusually large profusion of fruit trees, because of which there are blossoms everywhere. It is so, so beautiful. First week of April is usually the best time to catch the blossoms at their peak.

The Palau is just like Biryani......from India, Every region has their own traditional kind of Palau or Biryani. Palau originates from Pilaf......thats what the Iranians call it. These dishes are popular all throughout the middle east. and SE Asia.

In our childhood education word Y always stand for Yak, at that time we kids didn't know this Yak lives on Pameer mountains range and only comes to valley in spring, beautiful restaurant with very cozy atmosphere, yes Luke Dement stayed there where you pointed 👍
