"La Marcha de Zacatecas" as this song is named, conmemorates the depart of Pancho Villa and his men from Zacatecas after a battle during the Mexican Revolution . In México we hear this song only at the parades which conmemorete this historic chapter.
Ok we do almost the exact same stuff but first we do a snake in couples then we split apart then we pass by each other and criss cross and then come back together, then start the tunnel, then go in a single line then til the circle gets smaller then put bride and groom in the middle and then turn around when it comes back to be a bigger circle
I'm from Antonito, Colorado and we do this dance for all events. We did it for my cousins wedding and for my brothers graduation.

@vickiejean2001 New Mexico has a lot of influence from Germans.. the polkas and music Im sure that has something to do with the marcha :)
Indeed, this is a song from the Mexican Revolution, so its origyn is truly Mexican.
