      I enjoy Campbell’s soups, even the split Pea condensed. I know the products are consistent in quality and taste. Bean with bacon is also very good. However the Split pea is my favorite. All the new chunky flavors don’t get my attention like the old fashioned condensed ones.

      The nicest thing my older brother ever did for me to this day (we are 50 and 51 now) was eat 6 bowls of ham and split pea soup our mom made. In one night… so we didn’t have to eat it the next night too. It’s not that the soup was BAD.. we just didn’t like it and definitely not 2 nights in a row.. we were 9 and 10 at the time 🤣

    Boomer here. Growing up my Mom made Campbell's tomato soup so much better by replacing the one can of water with a half can of milk and adding little chunks of Velveeta cheese 😋. Add a grilled cheese sandwich and you've got the perfect meal for any winter day.

      After a hurricane in the 1950’s in South Florida we were given five pound blocks of cheese (not Velvetta) #10 tin cans of peanut butter and another #10 can of grape jelly and two loaves of bread. Thank goodness for the government. Our house had four feet of water in it and we lost the roof. No electricity, water, sewage for three weeks! Still love PPJ’s and American Cheese for my grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup! Forgot 5 lbs of powdered milk too! Water was 4 five gallon jugs.

    The main thing wrong with all Campbell's soups are the amount of salt in those little cans. Just too much; especially, if you have high blood pressure.

    • @UzumakiNaruto_
      @UzumakiNaruto_ 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree that the amount of salt Campbells puts in is too much as well as in general I found most of their soup flavors to be too concentrated and strong. This is why almost everytime I eat their soups I add water until its watered down to a level where I can still taste the flavors without it being overwhelming.
      Tomato soup is probably one where I need to add the least amount of water while many of their Chunky Soups I couldn't imagine eating straight out of the can without adding more liquid.

    • @normanwyatt8761

      They keep playing around with the igredients from day to day and year to year......Those little sirloin burgers are anywhere from 2 to 10 in most cans that I buy......So, I've been adding my own ingredients like those small cans of pieces and stems mushrooms to most kinds of soup and also small cans of mixed vegetables ( 8 oz. ) and even Boil in bag rice to chicken soups.....Sure, that drives up the cost but i'm never hungry after eating Chunky Soups anymore......

  • @loriloristuff
    @loriloristuff 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +19

    It's canned soup, not individual cans of gastronomic bliss! Individuals like different soups. People do different things with canned soups: put a baked potato under it, add noodles, add rice, throw it on toast or baguette pieces, use it to extend leftovers. If somebody isn't into cooking from scratch and is looking for an affordable meal, Campbell's Chunky Soups are a good alternative.

    Canned tomato soup makes a great not overwhelming tomato flavor when making stuffed bell peppers! Just add to one or two cans of soup mix(depending on amount cooked) cooked rice, sweet corn(canned or frozen) chopped bell pepper or green chili, to fully cooked hamburger meat, bread crumbs(if desired) all cooked together (adding only enough broth/water until mixture is nice and moist not wet) cook until well blended and then stuff boiled bell peppers. When peppers are stuffed bake at 350 degrees until all flavors are mixed(I bake for about 45 minutes). Since all ingredients are cooked before stuffing peppers there is less danger of consuming undercooked ingredients.

      You can use a can of tomato sauce in your meat mixture but, if you have digestive issues, I discovered tomato soup does make a great substitute if you have a hard time with spaghetti sauce and, tomato sauce! to boost the flavor in your tomato soup add some bullion and, some Worcestershire Sauce as well,as your seasonings. You will find out if your recipe calls for diced tomatoes, it makes it easier to digest those tomatoes and, if you get in a habit of doing this it’s as if your retracing your digestive system. You will find it’s easier to eat fresh tomatoes, and, every once in awhile it will get easier to eat that tomato and, spaghetti sauce once in awhile!

    After a day's work, and an hour commute, and picking up the kids at daycare or after school, get your lazy carcass into the kitchen, and chop away, grind, mince, whatever. While this stuff is bubbling away, help the kids with homework, bathe them, etc. When the soup is done, stuff it down your gullets, and wash up while the kids are coming in and out of their rooms, saying they're thirsty, have to wee, whatever. Make school lunches, check schedules to see who has gym, soccer, ballet, whatever. Don't be a LAZY parent. Shame, shame. Saturday is for shopping, cleaning, laundry. No time to make a week of meals. Sunday is a day to enjoy the kids. So, open that can of soup without guilt.

    For a soup you can get for under 2 bucks it's a pretty good product. The soup made with beef is not gonna taste
    like a roast beef dinner. As for the salt it's in the range 1600mg +/- 150 which is well below 2300. The suggestion is to eat half a can
    as a portion and then the salt is reasonable. I've had a stroke and still eat it . I closely monitor my B.P. It's one of the best soups around
    that taste great. They dropped the BPA from the cans years ago. My $ .02 worth

    I only use two canned soups. Campbell's Tomato Soup and Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup. The Cream of Mushroom is only used in my tuna noodle casserole and I only make the tomato soup when I am craving grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup. Otherwise, all my soups are homemade. They just taste so much better in my opinion.
    I don't like any of the Campbell's Chunky soups.

    Years ago I worked in the Campbell soup factory area where they worked on new experimental soups. The smell in the place was absolutely disgusting.
    I stick with Campbells Tomato.

    Since they changed the owners, the quality has decreased! It used to be so good and reliable. Not any more. It was a great recipe, didn't need changing. I'm not happy with Campbell's soup at all. Let me know when you change it back!

    The cream of chicken soup I bought had a long rubber object in it. Contacted the number on the can and followed their directions. Their response was that they were not responsible. I'm only one person, but will never buy Campbell's soup again .

      canned soup is cheaper and doesn't go bad... not everyone has the time and energy to buy ingredients and then freeze the leftovers. Sometimes you just want 1 can and that's it.

    The top five looked pretty good but I don't think I've seen many of them in local stores. My current favorite is their Hearty Ham & Bean Soup and was surprised it didn't make the top ten, lol.

    This video is so wrong! The split pea soup is great! Just make sure it’s a really cold day outside and make sure the soup is piping hot. My dad always says it reminds him of ice skating on the canals in the Netherlands.
