I enjoy Campbell’s soups, even the split Pea condensed. I know the products are consistent in quality and taste. Bean with bacon is also very good. However the Split pea is my favorite. All the new chunky flavors don’t get my attention like the old fashioned condensed ones.
The nicest thing my older brother ever did for me to this day (we are 50 and 51 now) was eat 6 bowls of ham and split pea soup our mom made. In one night… so we didn’t have to eat it the next night too. It’s not that the soup was BAD.. we just didn’t like it and definitely not 2 nights in a row.. we were 9 and 10 at the time 🤣
Boomer here. Growing up my Mom made Campbell's tomato soup so much better by replacing the one can of water with a half can of milk and adding little chunks of Velveeta cheese 😋. Add a grilled cheese sandwich and you've got the perfect meal for any winter day.
After a hurricane in the 1950’s in South Florida we were given five pound blocks of cheese (not Velvetta) #10 tin cans of peanut butter and another #10 can of grape jelly and two loaves of bread. Thank goodness for the government. Our house had four feet of water in it and we lost the roof. No electricity, water, sewage for three weeks! Still love PPJ’s and American Cheese for my grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup! Forgot 5 lbs of powdered milk too! Water was 4 five gallon jugs.
Used to steal 8kg blocks of government cheese and sell them out the back of an escort agency. One time I sold 8 blocks to one guy, I dont know what he was going to do with all that cheese but I hope it was good.
The main thing wrong with all Campbell's soups are the amount of salt in those little cans. Just too much; especially, if you have high blood pressure.
I agree that the amount of salt Campbells puts in is too much as well as in general I found most of their soup flavors to be too concentrated and strong. This is why almost everytime I eat their soups I add water until its watered down to a level where I can still taste the flavors without it being overwhelming. Tomato soup is probably one where I need to add the least amount of water while many of their Chunky Soups I couldn't imagine eating straight out of the can without adding more liquid.
@@UzumakiNaruto_ I can agree fully with you about the salt, but It's difficult to get that wonderful intense flavor without it. Adding water to dilute your soup is a good idea, but I like it as is. Enjoyed your comment .
Does anyone remember the Chunky Chicken Noodle that had mushroom slices and much better noodles than the thick, gummy ones they use now? That was my favorite.
I do! That was my favorite soup back in the '80's. I loved those big mushroom slices! I don't know what else they did to the recipe, but Chunky Chicken Noodle has never tasted as good as it used to back then. Italian Wedding is my go-to soup now.
They keep playing around with the igredients from day to day and year to year......Those little sirloin burgers are anywhere from 2 to 10 in most cans that I buy......So, I've been adding my own ingredients like those small cans of pieces and stems mushrooms to most kinds of soup and also small cans of mixed vegetables ( 8 oz. ) and even Boil in bag rice to chicken soups.....Sure, that drives up the cost but i'm never hungry after eating Chunky Soups anymore......
It's canned soup, not individual cans of gastronomic bliss! Individuals like different soups. People do different things with canned soups: put a baked potato under it, add noodles, add rice, throw it on toast or baguette pieces, use it to extend leftovers. If somebody isn't into cooking from scratch and is looking for an affordable meal, Campbell's Chunky Soups are a good alternative.
I remember it, although I never had a chance to taste it (I was too young to be doing the household food shopping when that flavor was around). Chili Beef soup made its arrival at the same time as Vegetable Bean soup (also long-discontinued), which was one of my absolute favorites.
Canned tomato soup makes a great not overwhelming tomato flavor when making stuffed bell peppers! Just add to one or two cans of soup mix(depending on amount cooked) cooked rice, sweet corn(canned or frozen) chopped bell pepper or green chili, to fully cooked hamburger meat, bread crumbs(if desired) all cooked together (adding only enough broth/water until mixture is nice and moist not wet) cook until well blended and then stuff boiled bell peppers. When peppers are stuffed bake at 350 degrees until all flavors are mixed(I bake for about 45 minutes). Since all ingredients are cooked before stuffing peppers there is less danger of consuming undercooked ingredients.
The cafeteria at a former employer used to use tomato soup to make a type of lasagna. It was served every other Thursday, and they had to make a double batch to keep from turning people away.
You can use a can of tomato sauce in your meat mixture but, if you have digestive issues, I discovered tomato soup does make a great substitute if you have a hard time with spaghetti sauce and, tomato sauce! to boost the flavor in your tomato soup add some bullion and, some Worcestershire Sauce as well,as your seasonings. You will find out if your recipe calls for diced tomatoes, it makes it easier to digest those tomatoes and, if you get in a habit of doing this it’s as if your retracing your digestive system. You will find it’s easier to eat fresh tomatoes, and, every once in awhile it will get easier to eat that tomato and, spaghetti sauce once in awhile!

Chicken and Stars was my all time FAV...... (1970s version).
Sounds like campbell’s didn’t make the payment you guys demanded….
We would add elbow noodles to tomato soup it really made it better that or croutons in it is really good.
This video is so wrong! The split pea soup is great! Just make sure it’s a really cold day outside and make sure the soup is piping hot. My dad always says it reminds him of ice skating on the canals in the Netherlands.
No one should EVER eat Campbell's soup.
Read the label. (Chemicals and GMOs could kill you!)
Used to get a can of Campbell's soup with a decent price now all you get is a little tiny thimble of Campbell's soup and an outrageous price we stopped buying that product long time ago you can put those cans where they you know clogged the bunghole
Love Chunky Classic Chicken Noodle, Steak and Potato and NE Clam Chowder!
Campbell used to make a delicious Home Style minestrone I loved, but then they dropped it. Still like the simple chicken noodle.
I use tomato soup in my chili. I also use French onion soup, or beef broth in recipes where I need a richer beef flavor.,😋
My mother would combine Tomato and French Onion together with only one can of water. It’s good.
Snow’s Clam Chowder, Hormell Cihili Con Carne, Campbell’s Tomato
Worst can soup Great American Soup tasted like wall paper paste
Campbell's Chunky Soups always look like someone ate them before...
I stopped eating Campbells soup because they put bio- engineered products in it.
I wish they hadn't discontinued their Pepper Pot and Scotch Broth soups...
All right, which food cop got to the original poster and bullied him or her into bad-mouthing ANY soups?
Soup Nazi, bad.
I was really sad when the discontinued the original pea soup. The new ones don’t cut it.
Chunky chicken & dumplings is their worst of all time
