Exactly, 100 day episodes are great and all, but you don’t get to see the how. That’s one thing I miss about good old let’s plays, you got to go through their world with them and attach to it, see how they got from one point to the next, something that most 100 days lack

Yea, this specific scenario is perfect for him to learn how to fight because you needed to, cuz if you don't, the parasites would evolve way too fast for you to do anything
Yet it's called the scape and RUN mod! I want a refund! Tbf he did do a lot of running which you kind of have to in this mod.
As much as it can be frustrating to watch you gotta understand if one mob gets a lucky hit in that could be the end of a run, can’t imagine how annoying it would be to be on like day 40 and die to something that does 8 hearts of damage then having to try another 5 runs before you get a decent set up again to survive for 100 days, especially on this one with survival being so difficult.

STAGE 0: (INITIAL)
-Buglins can spawn naturally; (The little bug things that eventually turns into a full parasite)
-Buglins will run away when they're near a Player or an Aggressive Mob, in order to increase their chances to survive and grow;
Sleeping will add 3 Points.
STAGE 1: (400 Points)
-Rupters can now spawn naturally;
-Rupters run away when they're near a Player or an Aggressive Mob, unless they're in a group of 2 or more;
-Rupters attack Hostile Mobs, if they're in a group of 2 or more;
-Sleeping will add 5 Points.
STAGE 2: (800 Points)
-Rupters will now attack any Entity in order to assimilate it, regardless if they're alone or not;
-Assimilated Mobs can now spawn naturally;
-Sleeping will add 50 Points.
STAGE 3: (1,800 Points)
-Mobs with the COTH Effect will now not drop any Loot;
-Assimilated Endermen can now spawn naturally;
-Beckons, Dispatchers, and Deterrents will no longer take damage and die over time;
-Reinforcement System is unlocked;
-Stage I Beckons will slowly grow to Stage II;
-Buglins will now stop spawning naturally;
-Passive Point Gaining is now active: each second, Parasites killcount will go up by 0.05;
-Sleeping will add 5000 Points.
STAGE 4: (100,000 Points)
-Primitive Parasites and Thralls can now spawn naturally;
-Stage I Beckons will now normally grow to Stage II;
-Stage II Beckons will slowly grow to Stage III;
-Passive Points gaining increased: each second, Parasites killcount will go up by 0.075;
-Reinforcement System chances to activate are increased (0.03);
-Colonies are now unlocked
-Fishing will no longer give items;
-Sleeping will add 50000 Points;
STAGE 5: (1,000,000 Points)
-Nodes are now unlocked;
-Stage II Beckons will now normally grow to Stage III;
-Stage III Beckons will slowly grow to Stage IV;
-Beckons will now ignore their Summoning Cooldown;
-Passive point gaining increased: each second, Parasites killcount will go up by 0.1;
-Reinforcement System chances to activate are increased (0.04);
-All Disguised Assimilated Mobs will now drop their disguise;
-Points gained by sleeping will now be multiplied by 5;
-Sleeping will now add 1,500,000 Points.
STAGE 6: (30,000,000 Points)
-Adapted Parasites and Manglers will now spawn naturally;
-Stage III Beckons will now normally grow to Stage IV;
-Passive point gaining is increased: each second, Parasites killcount will go up by 0.15;
-Reinforcement System chances to activate are increased (0.05)
-Assimilated Mobs and Rupters will now stop spawning naturally;
-Mobs have a 20% chance to spawn with the COTH Effect;
-Crops grow 10% slower;

STAGE 7: (100,000,000 Points)
-Grunts and Monarchs will now spawn naturally;
-Passive point gaining is increased: each second, Parasites killcount will go up by 0.25;
-Reinforcement System chances to activate are increased (0.07);
-Primitive Parasites will now stop spawning naturally;
-Parasites will now ignore sky light levels when spawning naturally;
-Mobs have a 40% chance to spawn with the COTH Effect;
-Crops grow 30% slower;
-Sleeping will add 150,000,000 Points.
STAGE 8: (600,000,000 Points) (Final Stage)
-Passive point gaining is increased: each second, Parasites killcount will go up by 0.35;
-Reinforcement System chances to activate are increased (0.09);
-Crops now grow 60% Slower;
-Mobs have a 60% chance to spawn with the COTH Effect;
-Sleeping will add 5 Points.

Half of the time he's forgetting things that would have either helped him or hindered him, the other half he's like "ok, that was dumb, almost died, never doing that again" then proceeds to do the same thing that nearly killed him and do it multiple times. Truly the perfect example of letting your intrusive thoughts win

What makes it creepier that the enderman is easily the strongest common enemy and can literally teleport away from danger. And it was still helpless.

if you happen to see this, the ladder teleportation at 2:05:30 is from a mod called DungeonTactics which allows you to teleport up ladders by right clicking them

And even if some might seem a bit out of place I see them more on the side of worldbuilding, perhaps the lands always had a parasite issue, and different nations with different advancements tried to conquer the lands but would always ultimately fail. Like the nuke, it may've been someone's last desperate attempt to exterminate the parasite... but for whatever reason it didn't work. I like that

What ultimately saved you was building the panic room under a pool of lava. The ghost parasites couldn't get down to you without setting themselves on fire.
I love the part where Sean eventually finds the beacon behind his base after forgetting about it for a long time. But, its been evolving so much and spawning so much enemies deep down in its cave, the whole journey turned into some Doom Eternal mission 😂

I think Sean's videos about these mods are so good because of his level of competence in Minecraft. He knows what he’s doing enough that it doesn’t hurt to watch but he makes it more realistic by panicking and doing the wrong thing sometimes. If you were really thrust into this parasitic apocalypse, you wouldn't know how they worked or what to do, but you would learn how to defeat them over time. It wouldn't be the same if a veteran played this, knew exactly how to beat them, and was never scared of dying. Never change, Sean.

Honestly, Scape and Run Parasites is genuinely the most terrifying mod (to me). Just the fact these highly infectious beings can spawn everywhere, hunt everything, and can quickly snowball into world domination if left unmanaged just strikes fear into my very soul.
It's one of my personal most favorite mods, maybe right behind Pam's HarvestCraft, but either way I'm loving the attention this mod is getting recently!
Idk why you guys say: if left unmanaged, its not like you can do anything about it since it can developp outside of your fov which is gonna guarantee at least one beacon to reach max level
Fun Fact: Scape and Run Parasites were based on the Flood from Halo

*SURVIVAL TIP:*
If there's *dungeons* like this, you can _repurpose the underground entrances_ into making into a *bunker.* Just line up the walls or make obsidian or stone blocks on all corners/pathways surrounding the stairwells (also add some lava for good measure) and use whatever means to create rooms for storage/enchantment/sleeping quarters. In some dungeons, there's some pre-made rooms complete with lanterns, bookshelf, and a bed like the one here: 42:54.
With flaming barbed wires. put single ones on hallways (if you made those) and scatter around incase if they break in.
yeah but, it's in a dungeon. So not only will you have a fuck ton of parasites but regular mobs that then can be turned into parasites. Which would just cause your death a lot quicker
@@Just_a_Piano_ i am aware about regular mobs + parasites spawning, especially in dark areas, i forgor to mention about placing down torches and destroying spawners beforehand. And they don't have to cover the whole dungeon, just part of it.

What happened at the end there is that a Disruptor spawned near Sean's base, they're like a different type of beacon, they spawn those tentacle things and can use an underground web of tentacles to teleport parasites, which is why Sean's final method of defense was getting invaded so quickly.

Quick tip: if you have issues keeping track of various recipes in jei, just press A while hovering your mouse over the item you need or want to craft. This way you can bookmark them and keep better track of items.

I love how when he finds the growing infected biome me mentions how he needs to stop it and how he'll have to build more grenades' and the flame thrower to do so, but once he makes them he just never goes back. Was really hoping that would be the final battle.

Tip for the parasite mod: parasite nests have eggs in them that drop organic samples. These can be processed in a sample refinery to make parasite bits. The sample refinery can be made with other blocks from the nest. Hope this helps.

I love how he doesnt cut the parts where he choked on the script and just keep it in,it really adds to the atmosphere of 100 days Minecraft challenges
so, you don't know this, but those hords that come at you each 10 days helped A LOT. Each time parasite is killed it reduses their points. So hord killing pushed away your demise by a large margion.
Not to come crash your party there, but the hordes mod somehow made it far worse for some strange reasons... ^^'
Killing assimilated parasites, what he mostly got, removes a single point, yet night one he got to phase 1, which is extremely huge in a survival world where you don't try to voluntarily make the parasites grow in like let's say in creative.
Probably that for some reason, every parasites that spawned counted as mobs being assimilated, thus giving 6 points for every assimilated mobs that spawned for the horde nights (not counting what those fellas killed and assimilated on the way to turn Sean's giblets into Tacos Bell sceptic tank goo).
Later on the primitive parasites that removes 50 aren't doing much since at that point he's on a pretty dangerous phase (On phase 4, which he did reach by the end, primitive parasites can start spawning naturally, but since phase 4 requires 10 000 points to reach and that primitive parasites only remove 50 on death, so even that reduction isn't much for the number of parasites spawning. (Also I pity Sean for not know that sleeping from phase 3 is a bad idea since parasites gain enormous amounts of points compared to what you can remove).
So yeah, although you are normally correct, especially when he takes down adapted parasites that removes 3 000 points per kills and even pure parasites later on that removes 10 000 points, the hordes mod seems to definitely steroid boost the parasite evolution points.

I believe they also get points for getting kills, meaning it might end up doing more harm than good, seeing as he got to phase one on the first night
@@the_phantom_cat7912 They get one point per kill and parasites are far more powerful than vanilla mobs. Thus, yeah, especially in hordes, even if killing an assimilated substract one point they gain more than they lose alas... ^^'
I honestly can't tell you how satisfying it is to see him finally get some good luck and Power in his hands, it felt like a freaking miracle in a movie when that creeper farm showed up on my screen. I am honestly loving this series.

The actual war you are having with your own script made this the most tense, funniest and engaging 3 hour long video I've ever watched yet. I don't even watch videos that are 30 minutes or one hour long much less 3 hours one, but this. this I watch.
I love how Sean randomly goes off script to tell his stories, they are my favorite parts, it always makes me laugh, and somehow its kinda interesting, "Shawn's" A good commentator that's for sure.😂

I love the fact that you can basically hear a ding in his head on day 39 when he got the idea to put barbed wire on his roof to kill anything that gets on it just a few minutes before when that giant thing was getting hurt by his base
I love how "end of the world"y this video is, really makes you feel like Sean is actually a parasite himself and is burrowing into our minds with epic content.
One thing I've learned watching video's about the parasite is that you NEED to clear out the caves daily otherwise it absolutely snowballs.

!SPOILER WARNING! Btw, The Concrete bricks you built your bunker out of have different stages, the cracked ones being weaker, but i believe still blast proof, the same mod adds the grenades, the press and barbed wire. It also has some turrets, however complicated and expensive. I reccomend use turrets from other mods like the security mod for a cheaper easier option. And remember those bombs? Though you cant mine them, you can detonate them by crafting a "detonator" or if you want both of them to blow up, you can make a "Multi-detonator". And of course you can go through the machinery and research to make bombs simaller to them, but it would be more practical to make a N2, or nuclear bomb instead of the endgame balefire bomb that those are. You shouldve used "The Prototype" or "Tsar Bomba" for the final explosion nuke, much bigger, much much bigger.

55:06 Yeah, by default the parasites need to infect the nether. It starts at stage -1, but if a parasite gets through your portal and gets the points for stage 0, it will be infected.
couldn't that be avoided by protecting your nether portal? and just going through it and destroying the portal. thus avoiding the paracites all together?

Whilst not quite at the level of Scape&Run (and who could blame them they are new and Scape&Run is amazing), there is now the Sculk Horde in the newer versions. Worth keeping an eye on for a possible future video of a similar fun-time

Due to lack of DEEP understanding, which is completely valid, FL was lucky he never had two Assimilated Horses *explode* back-to-back.
Yes, to anyone who either didn't see any of them do it, or are curious, most Parasite mobs explode when they die... however, Sim-Horses can VIOLENTLY blow up, causing BIG damage. This could've been one very rude and abrupt way to end his Hardcore World. Oh, btw, that's what makes the MEATY Explosion sounds, that's the Sim-Horse's special death. Perfect example at 2:37:58
Amidst other things that were not covered/known/mistaken, Endermen can spawn in Crawling variants, that's the lanky ones you see that sometimes get mistaken for "a head." Fire deals Quadruple Damage and hinders their ability to Adapt to attacks... And Adaptation. Not sure if he covers it later since I'm on Day 45ish, but Parasites have some NASTY subsystems going for them. Oh! And, Lightning, if you hear a thunderbolt it means a Parasite evolved within earshot.
The Rudeness of Parasites are as follows:
Parasites "Adapt" to Damage. This is the least rude of their abilities. Each time you hit them, they learn what caused the damage, and up their defenses to the attack. They eventually become "immune" so I'm told, but I think Chip-Damage still plays in.
Parasites have a Super Defense: You cannot Brute-Force them but you can Barrage them. Say an Enderman has... I dunno, 50 hit points. They may have 7 Armor which does Minecraft Defense Mechanics, but they ALSO have a second form of Defense that says "Enderman CANNOT take more than 20 Damage" meaning that even if you can deal 75 Damage and one-shot them, well, you don't. You need to hit them Thrice, minimum.
And on the exact contrary, Parasites have a Super Attack: Say you have Max Protection and Armor, and are negating 90% of their damage. So a Parasite that normally deals 16 Damage (8 Hearts) now only deals 1.6 Damage (Around Half-a-Heart)... Parasites say "Nope, I get to deal X Damage Anyways," meaning no matter HOW good your defenses are, they WILL deal 2 Hearts (4 Damage).
Now, if you stayed with me, or skipped to the end, I'd like to say I loved this video, it was something *real* for a change. I'm sick of these "100 days" kinds of videos with some strange bizarre forced script about pillars on the horizon built by unknown gods that require a sacrifice of 1 of every mineral to make the Mods no longer work, curing the world. That may be a bit boisterous of an example, but, hey. I'm just glad to see someone actually having some legitimate experiences out here, enjoying the game, and not just putting on a show for the people.

ForgeLabs truly makes 100 days more interesting then the rest of the MC TH-camrs. It just shows a real reaction showing that this mod is recommended for your own entertainment/enjoyment. Sometimes videos that make it funny can encourage people to play it. But reactions like this are giving the person a good example of whats going their reactions will most likely be like when they install the mod. Very descriptive comment btw, its also surprising that someone didn’t say ‘I ain’t reading allat’ yet.
The mod by itself is almost unbeatable. Parasites take over very fast, and with only vanilla things, you can't quite catch up with them. But INCENDIARY WEAPONRY is when we are actually meaning business. This is the kind of things that can turn hopeless struggle into much more of an equal fight

@@Jxvger the mod itself its as unfair as it gets, not even RLcraft throws so much BS your way all the time, worse of all you have no way to get back into your feet once things spiral out of control since the point system its always there passively giving them more power, sure, you can use lures but unless you actively farm ALL THE TIME for them they just delay the inevitable.
"but you can use other mods!" no mod can save you from these guys, trust me, i have tried all kind of gun mods, i love the concept of this mod but unless you actively go and nerf them yourself on the config file, and i mean MASSIVE nerfs, but mostly to their evolution speed and spawn rate.
the fear debuff is why some of your attacks that should have hit, didn't. it also increases your fall damage, and damage taken in the air. it also can cancel eating/drinking things
Love the vids always but just a few tips: the reinforced rod helps u make more reinforced blocks and if I remember correctly, they have tiers to be completely unbreakable. For example, reinforced obsidian. Then, should have put slabs on your first outer bunker layer, under the barbed wire roof. Also, in the security mod is a “sentry” in other words it’s a stationary auto cannon that attacks anything but the player. Lastly, should have built your bunker in the water, because land will spawn those tentacle spore shooters, with a huge moat of lava around it… played the pack before, those things helped

fun fact: the mod that adds the reinforced concrete, the nuclear bombs and the barbed wire (HBM's nuclear tech mod) is the only mod (that i've found) that adds weapons and armor that can effectively fight the parasites beyond stage 3 and 4, tho a little caveat is that you kinda have to do the mod for awhile to get to the point where you can actually get those weapons, since HBM has a VERY long progression

if you mean potential problems running the server itself, don't worry, as long as the modpack you have it in isn't massive or has a lot of other big mods in it

The only bad thing about those blocks is that beckons,seizers,dispatcher tentacles,sentries and kyphosies can spawn on those blocks so yeah be careful there
