There is actually a much quicker fix just to add to your list of ideas. I take a piece of scrap 1/2 or 3/4 (depending on the hose size) copper tubing, flare both ends not completely but enough to create a stop. sand any sharp edge. insert into the hose pieces and hose clamp or wire, either way. Works for me in a pinch.
If only that most people already know how to buy, but very few people know how to make one, this can be useful in places far from the city also when you do not have an accessory store nearby
@@Mrinventor93 Same for me It's an hour 1way to a General supply house and no guarantees they will have everything needed, waste 3hours and still don't have all parts or stay here and figure it out & fix it

Very useful. Americans will think, why not just go to the hardware store for a connector -- or throw the hose away? But as our economy collapses, along with the supply chain, we better get used to making-do. The Third World has a lot of experience to pass along to us.

seen this on another site so rushed out and bought a hot air gun and pvc tube pvc glue pipe cutters sanding paper. the man in the shop tried to sell me a pack of 2 connectors for£3 what a silly man . i told him i was saving money.

Wow. That looks so much easier than just going to Bunnings and buying a joiner. 🤪
😅yea , for $3.
But the nearest branch of Bunnings is 14,000 kilometres away and the airfare would be $2,800 . . . I might just as well buy a new hose!

Thank you so much. I have 2 hose pipes that need joining together. Why buy an adaptor when you can use what you have in the garage. 👍
Good job Sir...
this idea is great
Muchas gracias
Good idea 👍

thanks..i still will buy the adapter
In the time it takes to cut and heat the PVC pipe in the first bit, I could've gone to the hardware shop and back with an adaptor.

Yes, the last fix - buying an adapter is the easiest - all you need is a screwdriver to tighten the screw.
nagyon ügyes vagy❤
Great idea. I don’t like the wire clamp. I can visualize the wires snagging. Substitute for the wires? What about glue?
Thank you so much
How about just buying a new hose.
@@robreuler144 I would. But I think the idea was to find an inexpensive patch.
Yeah, you don't have to buy an adapter, you have to buy PVC pipe, PVC cutter and a heat blower. Yeah, right!

Lumix g7 amigo, muchas gracias
put tape over the wire or zip ties to protect your hands.
you need a tie wrapping cutting tool to cut tie right- It makes them tighter and you will not cut yourself from the part you left behind
I have one, you can adjust the tension and they leave a smooth cut.

For the hole I would use a bike tire patch
I think it's about time to replace the bursting hose.
Bravo
A hose connector with two clips is worth less than two euros!!!!!!
buy a new pipe may be more easy and all these connection will be disconnected when water pressure is high.

Imagine having PVC and PVC glue lying around but you don't have any clamps or hose connectors lying around.
most people would not have the tools or pipes to do this with so going out and buy the tools would be more expensive then just getting an adapter
Correct me if I am wrong. However, I count three fixes without buying an adapter, the fourth fix is a "Trumper" store bought adapter.
just take a short piece of 1/2" pipe two hose clamps and join them. The way ya did it is just too much of a head ache

I would wager that almost all home owners who do some of their own yardwork have pieces of PVC and glue sitting in their shed from past projects.
