I will get this lens when becomes available at stores, just to pair it with a sony a5000 or a5100 and have the minimal setup posible when I don't feel like carry a bigger camera (btw, I only do stills, and I am trying to get into video).
@@PauloOreda I understand where you're coming from, thank you.
Yeah this will be good for a budget setup. Once you work out the pro's & cons it's fantastic to create with.
great video mate ! i would have liked to see the focus speed at a normal 3 to get sn idea
also the anamorphic lens is now at 45€....
@@DuncanDimanche-sreview thank you. Viltrox had to send me a new lens after I spoke to them about the jerkiness...turns out this one was faulty.
Anamorphic can definitely be found much cheaper. I saw tons of them still under £30
@@DuncanDimanche-sreview also, why does your name sound so familiar, are you a member of Eos-M ML group?
Cool mod, is that an e mount version of the lens? I can't find anything but an ef version online, thanks!
Thank you. Yes so far Viltrox have only released e-mount. Hopefully they'll release more.
I wonder if it's possible to do this on the newly released Samyang remaster slim, the brighter 2.8 and 32mm seems to be a nice fit for this mod.
Wow! I never seen that...what a fantastic concept. I think I'm going to try that.
Wooooow 😮❤ Amazing idea!!!
@@lucasmicarelli thank you
Wow, so cool. Thx cor the video!
So what would the focal length be of this combo if it were a proper anamorphic lens?
28mm of 56mm?
@@Whaever_1981 thank you. On full frame (full width) you get the equivalent of about 18mm horizontal.
The samples in this video are full width but normally you'd crop in a bit more on the sides and less black bars on top....user preference.
@@Altcinethank you!
I'm definitely trying this
@@TortelettYT yeah give it a try. The whole lot can be purchased for under 100 at the moment with early bird prices so it's even more enticing.
You are a wizard ! I want to try it now 😅
🤣🤣 please do, it's definitely good for a few fun shots...dare I say useable in some productions.
Genius!
Thank you
Nice thanks for this! Good to know
@@KeigoMoriyama cheers man. Very cool little lens.
Very cool idea!
Thank you! Cheers!
great idea man!
Thanks man
good stuff and very creative!..........guess i got pickup this lens for my fx3!👊🏾😡👍🏾
@@Jazzmarcel thanks bro and yes, definitely get it. It's worth it for what you can do with it.
Good idea.... But you did the hell and the awesome torture for pedantic perfectionists. It is nothing personal.
@@alexandrorodrigez thanks. I had to get that in there and some people still complained in the comments 😅
Awesome work! I wonder if the Ulanzi or Smallrig 1.55x adapters would go onto the front of the pancake lens? Both of them have threads and allow ND filters to be added in easy.
Thank you. I do want to try one of those and see what the edges are like.
This video has done quite well so it might be worth the investment.
This is great! Is there a way to adapt a nd variable solution to this lens? Mainly for daylight videography?
There's a few ways. I've made a mount for Anamorphic and a smaller one for lens only but you'll need to 3d print it.
I'll try do a simple version for people who just want it for the lens and release asap.
Would this also work with the Viltrox 40mm AF on Sony E?
Nice idea! Will it work on the eosm with the 22mm pancake? 🤔
Thank you. I think the lens optics are a little bigger but you might get away with it if using magic lantern.
