===*COCKTAIL RECIPES - SPOILERS!!*===
Quantum Nebula by ChatGPT - Guessed RIGHT!
- 1.5oz Galactic Gin (Tanqueray No. Ten)
- 0.5oz Andromeda Amaretto (Disaronno)
- 0.5oz Nebula Nectar (St-Germain)
- 0.75oz Cosmic Citrus juice (2:1 lemon and lime)
- Garnish: Edible glitter
Shake and serve neat in coupe or Cosmopolitan glass. Sprinkle glitter on top.
ZACK'S NOTES: Use Meyer lemons in juice blend. Clarify juice with agar or centrifuge. Shake glitter in, and Garnish with a cherry wrapped in a lemon peel (like a ringed planet!)
I Loved You at Your Darkest by bartenderkyle - Guessed WRONG! - kindredcocktails.com/cocktail...
The Five Elements by Frederick Yarm - Guessed RIGHT! - kindredcocktails.com/cocktail...
ZACK'S NOTES: Substitute apple brandy or Calvados for the Cognac. Scuff cinnamon stick with Microplane before adding. The cocktail creator DID NOT come up with the symbology - that was all ChatGPT.
The Gods Must Be Lazy by sbumgarner - Guessed WRONG! - kindredcocktails.com/cocktail...
ZACK'S NOTES: The syrup is necessary. Do not substitute any ingredients - this is a very sensitive cocktail!
Thistle & Hearth by ChatGPT - Guessed WRONG!
- 2oz Highlands Scotch (Glenfiddich 12)
- 0.75oz Drambuie
- 0.5oz Lemon juice
- 0.25oz Maple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura
- Garnish: Lemon peel, small bundle of thyme
Shake hard and serve down over a large rock. Slap thyme against your palm, snap lemon peel over the drink, and drop both in.
ZACK'S NOTES: Any Scotch can be used, including peated and blended. Use Meyer lemon juice and peel. Shake a sprig of thyme along with cocktail and fine strain. Drambuie should be 0.5oz and Ango bitters are not necessary. To make my fancy garnish, wrap peel around midpoint of thyme bundle and spear the whole thing with a pick.
Planchette by enjoythemonologue - Guessed WRONG! - kindredcocktails.com/cocktail...
ZACK'S NOTES: Substitute Cointreau for triple sec and cut orange juice. If an atomizer is unavailable, coat empty glass with an eye dropper or by just rolling a small splash around.
For a planchette-y garnish, cut a triangle of orange peel. Use an apple corer to round the corners and punch a hole in the middle. Float on drink.
Their infusion recipe isn't great. Instead, combine 1 cup Cognac with 1 heaping teaspoon high-quality Chai, 1 cracked green cardamom pod, 1 small smashed cinnamon stick, and a star anise. Infuse 30 minutes and strain through cheesecloth.
To make cinnamon syrup, heat 1.5 cups Demerara sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. When it starts to simmer, take pan off heat, add 4 small smashed cinnamon sticks, and cover. Infuse 1 hour and strain through cheesecloth.

Really authentically appreciate that "not worth doing it if it's not fun" callout. Lost too many good ones who neglected that message.
I like when the 4/1 holiday is used as an excuse to playfully broaden the scope of a creator's work.
I’m just gonna say it. VoidBar Labs needs to become a real thing. I could watch this all day.
Honestly yeah he is a weirdly good presenter for a mixology channel
Frankly, this would be an awesome thing to make a staple of this channel! I watch How To Drink! and I love his work and this has a much more try-as-you-may feel that I really am digging.
@@Luke-we9gj Yep, I (not realising April Fools) told my husband all excitedly that the 3D Printing Guy does drinking videos like Greg and couldn't work out how we'd missed them. Now I am sad.
I have been enjoying your cocktail channel for many years. Your videos where you try every micro-brewry in colorodo is a must watch for all new drinkers. But I gotta say, this hard left into geekery is a nice change of pace!
I was unaware of this, now gotta go check it bc if this guy was behind a bar I'd be spending there a lot of time.
Imagine having 3D print and electronics advice from the man which is mixing you a margarita.
I would be working way less, way better!
I'm gonna share my dad's Gargleblaster recipe from back in the day.
Mix three shots of everclear with a shot of pepper vodka and a lemon twist. Serve in a martini glass, and drop in an ice cube as you hand it to the person, so their brain breaks when the ice cube sinks, because ice doesn't float in alcohol that strong.
If you drink that you will spontaneously combust
Rip being able to see
Never heard of everclear, sounded like a cleaning product. Looked it up, might as well have been. I've used lower grade alcohol for cleaning boards
Nah, one of my dad's college buddies survived two of them in one day. Barely. I can't confirm survival chances from personal experience, though, I haven't built up the courage to try it yet.@@ZackFreedman
Nah, no methanol, that's what makes you blind. It's just ~90% ethanol. It's the equivalent of drinking about 7-8 servings of normal alcohol. If you can survive 8 shots of hard liquor, you can survive a Gargleblaster. As I've never had more than 3 servings of alcohol in one sitting, though, I'm a bit more hesitant to try it myself. My dad was a lot wilder in college than I am. :P@@David_Phantom
Really love that you inlcuded a disclaimer about the negative effects of alcohol. A classic Zack way of veiling thoughtful messages within otherwise hilarious and attention grabbing videos!!
Thank you for the disclaimer at the beginning of the episode! Really helped me relax enough to watch the video. I have been sober for a few years and am slowly allowing myself to watch others drink again
More fun to watch him spend all that money than to do it yourself, that's for sure. ;) Stay cool fam!
Sober 7 years. Drinking has became much more prevalent in nerd culture than it used to be. It sucks for me. I used to be able to find other free-range weirdos who don't drink. Now I can't even find board game groups, book clubs or D&D pick up games without booze. I blame Critical Role and Geek and Sundry. I made a flow chart that proves this hypothesis because of course I did. Granted, of all the inebriated people I have ever encountered, nerds are by far the most fun and interesting. Still, when you don't drink it feels like you're stuck in an old noir detective movie: everyone drinking scotch before noon for some reason.
@@skuNk_citY Curious how you teased the causation from the correlation
hey, congrats!
@@skuNk_citY I know how you feel. I didn't drink a drop for many years by choice despite never being a heavy drinker at all. I found a lot of like minded people in the punk and hardcore music scene. That changed over time as well, though I was also just in the scene less. Needs used to be totally sober a lot more too when I first started college and all. Over time that has definitely shifted. Honestly being around weed smoking bothers me way more than drinking, but in general I prefer sober people to non, especially when doing something like games or a nerdy project. Even so, just keep looking for your groups of people and even if a few occasionally partake, doesn't mean you have to. I would suspect it has far more to do with the craft beer industry exploding and suiting nerd culture far better than pounding garbage corporate beer than it has anything to do with particular well known entertainers.
“Oh I didn’t know Zack did cocktail videos”
“Oh I didn’t know Zack was setting up a multiverse ARG about not being married to his wife”
OOOOOH IT’S APRIL FOOLS I FORGOT DESPITE HAVING SEVERAL CONVERSATIONS ABOUT APRIL FOOLS
March 32nd
My favorite cocktail: 42g crushed ice, 42g (good) absinthe. … ok, it's just a classic absinthe pour but I'm lazy so it's easier to wait for ice to melt than set up and monitor a slow drip. Conveniently, the magical 42 that we all know and love is … 1.5 fluid ounces, also known as "1 shot."
yeah, but are you human or a robot??
@@xawesome1992x Technically, I suppose I'm a cyborg. Blood sugar implant even comes in handy when I drink alcohol (whether it has too much sugar, or just the usual effect of making the liver start to ignore glucagon).
@@ex-nerd haha, neat! Ill say it counts
Zack, you're good at talking cocktails too. You are just plain entertaining to watch.
Can't believe you did this video without building an actual robot to actually make the cocktails.
Yes, I am disappointed
Craft Computing better watch out, Voidbar Labs is coming for the top nerdy drinking channel spot.
this is a great april 1st video
The cocktails would meet (as the crow flys) in Buchanan, Georgia. New Orleans is roughy 1,880,000m ~ 1,890,000m away from New York, and the two cocktails would meet at 1/3 the way from New Orleans to New York, which would put the collision point at about 630,000m. Depending on the start and end points this puts you at around the Buchanan, Georgia area.
You are legitimately the coolest motherfucker in this comments section
I love this, I genuinely wouldn't mind you making more of it.
You could change the name of Barfinity to Saloonity 🤔
Infinibar
Saloonity didn't make it out of dev phase... too many shoot-outs.
Thank you for giving Brooke dialogue in this episode she is funny as heck. Her goofy sarcasm plays well off of your style of humor
I've had ChatGPT make and then do very technical modifications to baking recipes (like ingredients that mess with Ph) and it did really well.
I didn't realize it was a prank until I watched the intro a second time. I thought it was a normal voidstar video! very fun. the bar for bad jokes and quick cuts is very low in my household
I wish you did more of these, this is incredibly well done and totally suits you
More please, you know it makes sense.
The best april fools video I've seen. It's just an actual video
Somebody has to say it: Love the new beard and haircut. Now you are finally safe from fatal z-axis entanglement accidents. :D
I love the crossover with How to Drink. Glad to see you somehow made me scroll through your channel to find evidence of your past alcoholic escapades.
Would I ask for too much if you would make a second channel? Stupid drinks, culinary chemistry experiments... 3D printed chocolate desserts?!
YES PLEASE
It does not matter how many times you make me click a check box, or play "find the motorcycle". You will never convince me that I am not a robot.
This has genuinely been one of my favorite videos of Zack's, only after watching the entire thing did I realize it was posted on April 1st.
Please do make this a series, you lovely alcoholic you.
This was a lot of fun. I wonder if a robot would have guessed which ones were made by humans or robots more accurately. Robotguessception.
How To Drink just got competition.
I really enjoyed this video. Getting to hear an educated opinion on something I know nothing about is fun. Not being able to tell the difference between an amateur and a neural network is fun. Having two decision points (the briefing and the drink itself) to weigh the drink on is fun. Plus the editing was super tightly paced which I thought really fit the style
I would absokutely watch a spin off channel about cocktails. Looks like you two had fun with this one!
Absolutely fascinating! This video perfectly encapsulates the intersection of technology and human experience. The question of whether we can truly differentiate between human and robot taste tests challenges our perceptions of sensory capabilities. The experiments and insights presented here are thought-provoking and open up new avenues of exploration in the field of artificial intelligence and sensory analysis. Truly a captivating watch!
- Robot
I have been watching your videos so often and been so impressed and inspired, that when I found out I wasn't subscribed I was audibly surprised!
Also dang you underestimate how crazy people are, like collectively there are enough people one person must have done it (most things)
as someone who plays vintage story (where the player character makes THAT EXACT instrument noise when hurt) this video is giving me severe anxiety
I love this, we need some more mixology videos
Just need to get into building cars and Mr void T star will have stolen all my hobbies

This episode is gold!
12:49 - Jesus effin' Christ, Thistle and Hearth, everyone in the background has had their face melted off.
Was very intrigued by this video cause I would never have thought a video of someone tasting cocktails to be any close to interesting but you nailed it big time, watched the whole thing. Great content and very well made as always, thanks!
Also I think you forgot to link/put the "info" thing to the spirit hunting video at 15:59 although it is in the description? Or maybe my youtube is messy, idk, thought I'd point it out regardless
An entire cast and crew of humans thought Scotchka was a mixed drink, and made it on-camera several times throughout the production of The Room. Do not underestimate humans' ability to invent unpalatable drinks.
"A beer banquette" coctail:
- a lotta beer
IIRC the Victorian cocktail "The Dogs Nose" goes "Cold Ale", "Warm Ale".
This is so fun, great video again.
I'm probably not the first to say this, but you thank your supporters in a way and rhythm that remind me of the "Tappet Brothers" of Car Talk fame. Very funny. Keep it up my friend!
"I'm not your wife, that's the other universe."
... While you're making those cocktails, may want to get some extra ice to put on that wicked burn.
I usually pay, or pay the travel to where the Campari Truck is sitting this weekend, to get a Masterclass like this. ❤🍸
you wouldn't download a cocktail
i like how the thank you segment for patrons lasts 3+ minutes
And so Zack underestimates the Human ability to make bad decisions.
I love the movie The Gods Must Have Been Crazy, the whole coke bottle scene is hilarious! First time I watch it was in my high school history class so like 30 years ago 😂 and we just kept rewinding the coke bottle scene over and over again while the whole class was dying laughing.
Love the experiment! Keep its weird! Love it
Zack's pronunciation of Glenfiddich makes my teeth itch and I'm sure it deliberate and hitting its target.
I am loving this! I usually enjoy your content, but this time it's personal. :D
Lemme say I admire people which can deal with robots, I'm no engineer. And also admire who can deal with people, because it's exausting.
Now the fact than a robot can mix correctly the right amounts of spirits and an AI can mix correctly the right amount of sarcasm, it doesn't mean they'll be a good barman/barmaid/bartender.
The only thought that I might be joining a bar bc I'm tired of a work day, and can't start a conversation yelling about something because the AI barkeeper would respond something like "Yeah, tho you might wanna politely take into account also the government's reasons to ask you all those taxes."
That scares the creep out of me dude. Seriously. I've never destroyed a pub on booze and neither this time would happens since I'll leave angrier than before and without even having got sparkling.
Drinking (responsibly ofc) is a social activity. It's a matter of people.
That's why we pay good 7-10 bucks for a drink with 3$ worth of alcohol at best. To interact.
I probably won't pay half of that for the best Negroni in the world, if it's in a place with just no vibes. AI vibes. I'd litterally prefer one where the glasses are flying. empty or full.
I hope to have said the obvious. :)
This was awesome
If only i had a fraction of your eloquent articulation! I could listen to talk all day! Jealous of your limitless vocabulary! 🎉🎉😊
This was great! I would absolutely watch a second void related channel dedicated to spicy waters
Love it!
I loved ypu at your darkest one... pretty sure bookers is also unfiltered, so cloudy... gives it one hell of a boost.
Ooh, Becherovka makes everything awesome. I'd even drink frozen water with it. My favourite combo is a B^3: Becherovka, Baileys and Batida de coco in equal measures. Layer by density for effect. The maker thought they were human, but those skinjobs are hard to detect nowadays.
Great content! The bots are winning? 🤔 Also appreciated the reality check at the beginning.
I don't drink anymore, but boy did I used to. Enjoyed your usual brilliant banter all the same. Cheers!
Going to have to try the five elements, that one was interesting!
It was delicious
Now how to drink needs to make a 3d/automation video
Void Bar Labs could be a really good alt channel! Just saying! I love that you're one of the few maker space creators that I can drink with! In a totally non-weird parasocial kinda way
Drink idea: Squeeze hot chocolate through a 3d printer nozzle to heat it up the spike with your choice of spirits. We can call it "Ingesting Microplastics"
There is a burger joint here in Brisbane, Australia that did a version of an Old Fashion that switched muddled sugar with maple syrup and it is the far superior version (providing you have it with a Maraschino Cherry)
"Printing is an addictive drug and it can kill you if your not finding yourself having fun anymore but still doing it then its time to shut the printer down close this vid and unbag your filiment.. it not worth it if you not enjoying it"
For another one that uses Glenfiddich my signature cocktail is the ginger honeydick (what you get when named by Facebook poll). Double of Glenfiddich 12yr, triple of Moniack Mead honey wine, top up with ginger ale, add twist of orange around a cinnamon stick. People never remember anything the next day but they say they must've enjoyed it
A rusty nail was the first cocktail i ever ordered on my 21st too. I absolutely hated it.
The first drink with the amaretto and citrus tasting like fruit punch reminded me of when i was a cook at a downtown hilton. Was working in the pub most nights and the bartender would pur rounds of wisconsin lunchboxes, Half beer and half oj in a rocks glass with an amoretto shot dropped in.
Dont remember whats in them but check out lemon drops and chocolate cake for some awesome shots. we drank way more of those than we should have back then, all while working with super sharp knives and lots of fire.
I could use a whole channel worth of this content
6:56 the Futurama 'blast from space weasel' reference 😅
The thing that tipped me off to the Thistle & Heather being a ChatGPT drink was the fact that it did not >feel< very Scottish. Surely, if you were tributing Scotland in a drink, you would make a Toddy of some description.
Loved the Futurama reference. I got my spice weasel. BAM!!
Multiverse zac could do numbers on the shorts with some quick cocktail ones.
Hey I'm doing that thing you said at the start I still can't stop😂

A Sazerac leaving New Orleans at 30mph and a Whiskey Sour leaving New York at 60mph?
They would crash somewhere around Fort Payne, Alabama... assuming they were taking the roads. It would also take roughly 14 hours, depending on traffic conditions.
I approve of this story arc
First time I've watch a "cocktail" video on a "cocktail" channel. I didn't have any explanations and some how you managed to surpass them. 😂
New look is on point
We need more drunk Zack
One guy from college had this absolutely cursed recipe called "The Big Gin":
1. Grab the largest mug you own from your cupboard.
2. Fill it with a bit of every kind of booze you have in your house.
3. You now have a Big Gin. Enjoy. Or don't really. Just exist with your Big Gin.
Can you make one final video about Hextraction?
I'm enjoying the Void Star Bar
You could never make me drink but I still found this entertaining.
Thoroughly impressed with ChatGPT's cocktails. Not sure if it was just sheer random chance or what, but those actually had me wanting to try them!
HowToDrink did a similar video a while back and it was actually very interesting. I'm glad to see it done again with an even more chaotic creator.
Genuinely if you made this into a more often staple of this channel, I'd definitely watch you do this stuff. I love watching How to Drink and this has a similar vibe. Give it a go ig?
I use ultra sunrise monster in place of simple syrup in my amaretto sour
I have those exact same shirts!
Becherovka! So freaking good
I more or less smashed together a Brooklyn and a Velvet Gentleman and called it a Brooklyn Gentleman, a.k.a. the Steve Rogers (because I liked the MCU up until Endgame). Anyway! Recipe: 2 oz. 100-proof bourbon, 1 oz. honey whiskey, 1/2 oz. Amaro Montenegro, 1/2 oz. Cocchi Americano. To minimize watering down, I prefer to stir with ice and strain rather than shake, but you do you!
Scot here. I also guessed human for that one, whisky and lemon and honey is very common - they're called hot toddy's, are usually served warm and are a traditional flu remedy. The ch in Glenfiddich is the same as the ch in loch - like a phlemy K. Drambruie is spot on though. Great videos :)
I am sick and Zack made me a lovely hot toddy yesterday
I Love how Off the pronunciation of "Amaro Ciociaro" is, i didn't even recognize it at first listen
Brw, i never appreciated how much italian stuff is carrying mixology
I think I've used chat gpt too much to describe and name things. I guessed them all right based off the descriptions and names alone 😂
Was old mate a bar tender in his pervious life? Had mates like him before and we'd always get totally blind, now I'm just a beer bloke.
Great video. Glenfiddich is a speyside not a highland. That is all. Love you Zach.
This episode makes me think that a chatGPT bar would perform well. Every visit could be unique, you enter your prompt at the table and the bar gets a recipe output
Anyone know where the sound panels (grey hexagons) in the background can be found?
5:13 'I've lost the plot'
Oh, I've been there so many times in projects.
Also, boxes well for the rest of the videos entertainment value if you've already lost the plot on the first drink, 😂
The April Fools joke here is that Zack is an AI, and Brooke created "him" in 2009
It was 2015
@@eponinesg good call getting out ahead of it with a TH-cam channel.
