0:13 Really, vibrant, International Airport…No, JFK, LAX, SFO, ORD, and MIA are thriving International Airports, IAH is at best a 2nd tier international airport. Some 20 international airlines is hardly “thriving” and with no new int’l service for the foreseeable future, especially foreign operators, DFW is poised to replace IAH as Texas’s international gateway status.
lol. It's pretty difficult to have a post that gets everything wrong, but you managed to pull it off. IAH just started new international service to Georgetown, Guyana and is getting a new route to Medellin, Colombia in the fall. The airport just had its busiest passenger year ever in 2023, is getting a brand new Terminal B on top of the international terminal project that is the subject of this video. New foreign carriers haven't been coming lately because there's literally no room in the international terminal at peak times, which is why this project was done in the first place. As far as all of those other airports, they are all bigger international markets - that's why they have more service. It's not exactly rocket science. However, regarding DFW, its had a lot of international growth because American literally runs everything through it. Houston still has more international airlines, seats, passengers, and flights despite the insane growth in DFW. And let's not forget Hobby is also an international airport with more than a million international passengers per year. Yes, IAH is an extremely vibrant airport and the Houston area will always be the international hub of Texas for a variety of reasons.
@@majicdonjuan Very well put.....we've endured quite well at IAH with all the work being done and it will be a thriving place again very soon. Well stated majicdonjuan, well stated.
@@majicdonjuan we left from IAH to London last year and the quick service food options at IAH were limited and unappealing, we arrived in London to be greeted by stores and cafes when exiting the baggage claim area. We left London and found a Michelin starred chefs cafe and a bunch of good stores and food options and we arrived back in Houston to be greeted by ABSOLUTELY NOTHING after baggage claim, my wife was thirsty but there was no opportunity after exiting baggage claim to get anything to drink before walking outside to the taxi/rideshare pickup area. And before you claim anything about the size/numbers passing through London, other quieter UK airports are also better to arrive and depart from than Houston. If they want to be seen as vibrant they have some serious work to do, here is hoping they manage it because it's frankly embarrassing right now.

And IAH is losing Southwest…just sayin’
@@cameraman655 Yes for the third time, bye bye SWA. No, they lost IAH as their load factors were horrible. Just sayin'.
