I have a lot of reproduction cases, a loose copy of a game is usually half the price of a CiB copy and the reproduction case usually cost less than $10 depending on who you get it from. For cartridge games I don't bother with box or case but for disc games, I need something to protect the desk and look good on my shelf. Some of these Etsy sellers are professionals in duplicating the real thing.
I bought some copy games when I got my PSX chipped in the late 90a. They played great but sometimes crazy stuff happened like in Caatlevania SOTN i was walking in the marble gallery and the next thing I was fighting Richer in Dracula's throne room getting my butt kicked lol.
Hagane is much cheaper on the Super Famicom, but it still can costs 100 plus even on the SFC. I had my Pal SNES Region modded for Super CIC and i just import some games over. Games like Turtles in Time cost less then the overpriced Western Releases. With your US SNES, you can just cut out the tabs in the cart slot on your SNES and you can pop SFC games in without a need to install a region mod.
Emulation works nearly perfect for these old games. Why spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on these way overpriced games??? Not to mention all the time wasted looking for them.

I have some Gamestation games which are bootleg Playstation games with a silver bottom instead of black.
