When the 2010’s started, it was clear that Disney Toon Studios didn’t have any real future since the direct to video movie market was fading. Instead, turn Disney Toon into a secondary wing of the Burbank studio similar to the now defunct Florida studio and let this unit produce 2D animated feature films. As far as the release schedule, a new traditional animated feature could be released once in a blue moon or even once a decade as a special 2D event.
Still I think Disney should solely produce the 2D/3D films and let Pixar produce the 100% 3D films so there would be differences between the two studios
When I think that all new disney movies could have looked like paperman...
I think everyone needs to leave and have new people that aren't into lgbt or woke nonsense
The problem isn’t the lgbtq+, the problems are those that can’t accept they have to do work and the corruption in Disney. Blaming a whole group for the acts of certain fools is irresponsible.
LGBT and Woke are not the same.
I totally agree 👍
@@andresanguianozuniga6798 Oh come on, as a member of the gay community, you’re a freak if you don’t walk in lockstep with woke agenda at this point; the far left does think they own us.
And the radical TRAs, empowered by the government is the worst of it.
Thats impossible in animation, 90% of modern animators in the west are far left
That thumbnail is hilarious.
Just like in the wake of the early 40s Disney strike resulted in a massive brain of animators leaving it to create UPA, we're going to see history repeat itself as many of these modern Disney animators (the good ones BTW) leave it again to join Skydance & Paramount Animation after the Paramount Global deal is done.
UPA is a strange situation where the strike happened not just because of perceived work conditions, but also with an outright fundamental disagreement of Walt's artistic vision. The animators at UPA used an interesting technique (limited animation) that led them stand out (but more importantly, actually made good cartoons, albeit not at Disney's level IMO), but that same technique led to cutting corners, and later the First Dark Age of Animation.
I totally forgot strange world was a thing lol
And This Kneon is why Pixar will never let Walt Disney Animation Studios merge with them. Pixar is actually responsible & know what they want to make. Walt Disney Animation Studios on the other hand is an appsolut mess, with no leadership, & have no clue about what they want to do out side of Frozen/Moana sequels🥴
@@DoomDarenxbourg They also had a few subpar TV shows
SPECIALLY when you can't milk that franchises forever...
Moana 2 needs luck and Frozen...since the sequel that thing started to have problems.
@@dogg-paws pixar didn't put out as many lame films in the last few years as Disney did, I'll give them that. Except for Lightyear, all of them were entertaining films, even if some of them weren't made for the traditional Pixar audience. They know how to tell a good story at least. But John Lasseter had great story telling and that special vision animators got. Shame on Disney for pushing him out over false allegations.
@@RKNancy Pixar couldn't do anything when Soul/Luca & Turning Red went straight to Disney+. Lightyear was a flop, but they owned up to it. The director & producer were canned via the layoffs. Pixar now has regained it foothold in Animation with Inside Out 2.

She got ganked by Bob but that will not come out till years later.
Please cover Disney cuts to the Disney Aspire program. This impacts a ton of cast members and no one is talking about it.
As a woman who has the same name at her "jennifer lee". I thought it was fun having the same name. Though "Frozen", even if my daughter liked it. I felt it was a dumpster fire in writing. Everything else has been a downward hill snow ball of a dumpster fire.
I know a VP who stepped down to be an individual contributor.
BUT it was well documented that while she was very successful she was also working 100+ hours a week a week and got tired with upper management telling her she wasn’t working hard enough.
I doubt this is the same situation.
And the people who are writing about being wiped out working on Inside Out 2…I’m sure Moana 2 is equally destroying their workers
Do I dare get my hopes up since that Bush guy was over the last good Disney shows? I want to, but it is hard to do after having my prior hopes for good Disney shows crushed so many times before.
@@mavortius8768 - Considering Bush wrote the only decent films during Lee’s tenure, there is bound to be an improvement. It never made sense how Lee was promoted to begin with, as she wrote “A Wrinkle in Time”.
This pisses me off. I was in art school in the late 80’s / early 90’s and wanted nothing more than to get into the Disney animation internship program. I worked my ass off. Classmates who likewise worked their asses off got in and I congratulate them. They deserved it. I was admittedly just not good enough. Disney wanted near perfection. They demanded nothing but the highest level of talent in every corner of their films. What the f@@k do we have now?!?! I was never bitter about not getting in until I saw what qualifies as their current brand of quality. You’d think “ we’ll try again! Maybe you’ll get it! “ NOPE!!! I’m a straight white middle aged man. And we know that isn’t going to play.

If John Lasseder is really innocent of what they say, I hope he replaces Iger.
What did they say? He was never accused of anything but being a tough boss and being a little too affectionate for corporate and maybe drinking too much at a party or two. He was never accused of hurting women. He was accused of giving out hugs. 😮
That thumbnail was hilarious😅
Jennifer Lee was not close to being qualified for that gig. Her filmmaking skills did not justify that. Frozen was overhyped, poorly written tripe and let us not forget, she wrote that atrocious Wrinkle in Time flick. I'm not shocked to find out that she was a factor in the quality at Disney go down the toilet.
She was given her walking papers for sure but are too spineless to say that in order to save face, like Disney's PR situation isn't at rock bottom right now.
“Frozen” was only successful because of Robert Lopez’s score. When looking at Jennifer Lee’s filmography, it is flabbergasting she was promoted to head of animation. She is a horrible screenwriter, and lacks the basic fundamentals of storytelling. Everything she greenlit, apart from some of films Jared Bush wrote, were complete garbage.
Kathleen Kennedy must have some type of psychological power to not even get demoted
@@RicsKeldinTheMaskedWarrior - There might have been a clause in the Lucasfilms deal, that bars Kennedy from being fired.

Frozen 3? Frozen 4? Inside out 2? Have these people not an original idea on their vapid heads?
Actions finally have consequences! :)
Well... Someone leaked the "less gay" story... Right?
The rumor was she is tribal and hard to work with.
Good workers don’t always make good bosses.
It's a step down for her...but Disney really needs the Frozen franchise to keep putting out, too. They must be in even more financial trouble behind the scenes.
But I'm pretty sure breaking the next story into two is going to cripple the franchise, anyway. People aren't going to go back for part four: kids who see part three will age out by the time part four comes out, and the next younger audience will have already moved onto something else, too.
@@Silver_Girl178 After the second...the worldbuilding is just downhill.
I always say the same:
"If Frozen II came after 2020, they would'nt make THAT billions".
Seriously, that movie is a failure on many levels AS PROJECT.
Frozen 1 was barely coherent and clearly cobbled together from multiple scripts. They didn't have the foundation to do one sequel, let alone three. From a storytelling perspective, the franchise was over before it began. They should, to borrow a phrase, let it go.

@@soaringeagle5418 - If you look at her filmography, you would see that is not the case. She is just a terrible screenwriter and storyteller.
Disney don't hire by merit. So animation sucks now. Not rocket surgery is it? Now apply the same principle to their ride engineers, and you should be worried next time you're queuing for one.
I'd be surprised if Jennifer Lee weren't a political extremist. Of course, to people who think leftism is (or should be, or must be) the default mindset, they'll go "extremist? Not to me!" Or: "What's wrong with my kind of extremism?" Robert Iger certainly is that way. Or he may be worse. He downplays his politics, then does ideologically neurotic things
She was demoted because she was terrible at her job. Everything created under her tenure was garbage.

It's so sad that Disney, which was built on animation, is now run by people who have no idea what it is doing with animation. So sorry, Walt. You deserve better.
