Bill Murray as a Cubs Announcer? Yes Please! For one glorious day back in April 1987, beloved comedian and Chicago native Bill Murray sat in with Cubs play-by-play man Steve Stone to call the game as part of WGN's "Harry For A Day" Project, where celebrities filled in for legendary regular announcer Harry Caray as he recuperated from a recent stroke. April 17th vs the Montreal Expos at Wrigley Field will always be remembered by Cubs fans worldwide as Murray gave a classic, spontaneous and often comedically ridiculous performance that made all of us LOL before that was cool. This was a few years before Mark Grudszielanek broke into the big leagues and played for the Cubs 16 years later. Harry Caray also had trouble pronouncing his name. Mark Grudzielanek is Polish American.
