This is absolutely wonderful. I love the gentle comedy of it. And Mifune in any way, shape or form is a pleasure to watch...the trademark scowl, the way he always walks...
Toshiro Mifune is such a formidable actor that, in The Seven Samurais, in the scene at the mill by the river, when he says "This happened to me as a kid", he needn't have done it. His performance has told the viewer before. And then there is Yojimbo.
Oh, this was delightful! I haven't seen this! Thank you for uploading it. Which episode was this and how many do you have only this one? I never get bored of watching Mifune Toshiro.
When I found this channel, I was elated! I thought, "Oh boy! There's bound to be a plentiful supply of Toshiro Mifune content..." and I was all ready to subscribe. But a search of the channel revealed only this one video featuring Mifune-san. Aarrgghh!! Bummer. Ah, well...I subscribed anyway, because Zatoichi. So thanks for that...and this. But seriously, dude...Mifune-san is shamefully under-represented on this channel, don'tcha think?
One thing I admire about Japanese woman is a cheerful greeting character. I don't know whether its true in real life or it's just a portrait in the movies.
I born in Japan and grew up in Argentina. Most of immigrants keep the old customs from the old days. My ancestors arrived to Brazil in mid 90's of XIX century. I saw a lot of Japanese movies (old and new) and always have the same question you have. I married a Argentinian Spaniard lady and didn't work for some reason. But I met a Japanese lady here in América and I was surprised how cheerfully she is, even when we have arguments. And I know in our circle , many of them , of course, with modern touch.
@@shizuokanemoto9410 Exactly as ou say . i am married wirth japanese women, so cheerfull that i do not feel easy to manage it, and with so modern touch of free will and hope that it is a true challenge for me to respond at. Luky we are to meet women like that and we will have to do our best for hers!
Legendary actor Toshiro Mifune was 67 years old when he made this tv series of 21 episodes. Tanaka Misako is excellent.

Misako Tanaka is gorgeous. Such a pretty face and plays the role very well, adding the cuteness of a young girl up against two old gits.
😊

The Retired Samurai (starring: Toshiro Mifune)
1987
©TOEI COMPANY, LTD
Okubo Hikozaemon (Mifune Toshiro), who used to be known as the "opinionated man of the land," has retired and lives with his servant Kiuchi (Fujimura Shunji), both have now become absent-minded and are even said to be in a trance by the young Hatamoto (feudal lord). One day, a young girl named Chizuru (Misako Tanaka) appears and forcefully begins a live-in apprenticeship, claiming that her mother, Omatsu, who had been serving at Hikozaemon's mansion for 18 years, had died and left a will saying, "After the 49th day has passed, you should go and take care of Master Okubo in my place. At the time, Hidetada, the feudal lord, was in critical condition, and the bannermen were irate that an outside daimyo might rebel. ......
Description
The 19th episode of "Masterpiece Jidaigeki" series, which was broadcast in 1987 with a total of 22 episodes in the series, which is a drama that finishes in one episode. The original work is "Hikozaemon Gaiki" by Shugoro Yamamoto. While the exchange between Mifune, Fujimura, and Tanaka makes us laugh a lot, the surprising development after Chizuru's identity is found out is well performed byToshiro Mifune with Hikozaemon's stylish moves make it a worthwhile work.
