Never cried during a k drama before but I cried *SSOOOOOOOOOO* bad watching this. I didn't even really apreciate Euns character throughout TBH but the emotion so put into it made me ball in tears. Amazing acting

LJG IS A GREATACTOR. I've been watching Korean drama & films, but he's one I can confidently say is one of the best. The emotion he showed in this scene was truly truly amazing.
Even watching bts clips, Lee Joon Gi makes me cry. His acting here is just amazing. There is no actor like him. How can he laugh so cruelly while crying so sadly in the same time... this scene alone deserves an oscar

I read somewhere that ratings of the show dropped. Is it because of this scene? I mean I get why people would be sad that Baekhyun's character had to die BUT in a way.....it works. 1. Be aware that in every history Korean Drama, important characters have to die. 2. Baekhyun is a Kpop idol so he has to also focus on EXO. So maybe that's why Baekhyun had to leave the show. Or who knows.
Alison Bermejo the ratings went down not because baekhyun died its because the baseball game aired before this drama, it gave a lot impact to moon lovers beside moonlight final episode was the biggest reason why the rating went down. baekhyun died not bcs of his schedule but based on korean history, he died bcs of getting killed by his brother :)

Queen Yo and Yeonhwa attempted to poison the Crown Prince (Wang Moo) through Hae Soo with the help of another court lady that was hired by Yeonhwa, I suppose. It was supposed to frame Hae Soo of the crime. Eventually, Lady Oh claimed that she attempted to poison the Crown Prince out of jealousy (since she was not able to conceive a baby that will honor the Taejo) but the reality is, it was to save Hae Soo from being hanged guilty of treason. Lady Oh cared for Hae Soo so much that she sees her as her own daughter. Taejo Wang Geon did not approve at first but he has nothing to do as it was Lady Oh's last request from him before she dies of her sickness.
The bottom line is, Lady Oh turned herself in to save Hae Soo from death. Taejo Wang Geon did not want to kill Lady Oh but he just wanted to protect his seat/the throne. Just like what the drama "indirectly" said, "being the king means throwing everything away; including the ones you love."
