@@colindavis1496 Malmsteen is boring since beginning of 2000. the guy always do the same things, scale up, scale down, same arpeggios since 80's. He could be more eclectic..
I always imagine Marty and Gary Moore playing together, Marty goes bluesy and Gary goes a little Japanesk, that's would've been total vibrato euphoria.
Marty could play other peoples farts and still make them sound tasteful and in tune...FFS, he is so on another level. I love this guy since 1986 and even his early works are standing alone in this world as amazing pieces. I still listen to everything he does, just because I always find a small phrase, a bend, a chosen note that I havent picked up before and I get. a smile on my face.
I saw your comment in this full video, it brought me here, and I have to say... This is perhaps the most beautiful, most melodically satisfying, most melancholic guitar piece I've ever heard written and performed. And to have Marty of all people perform it is just like, ideal. It's so good. Seriously, props, you are incredibly talented, Jason!
Very nice of you to say, thanks! I only created/recorded the backing for Marty, the performance is all his creating. He's a one off; a great guy to collaborate with and a stunningly unique musician. Thanks for watching Junk Bond Trader!
@@jasonsidwell ah gotcha, in any case the comment still stands! I've always knew of Marty but recently went down a big Marty rabbit hole haha I'm obsessed with his playing. Usually players at the top are technical masters, or are more artistic/emotionally driven players... Marty is a master at both.
Wow! “Suspect things happening”...wish I could play that badly!! Marty’s solos are always interesting and you always recognise his amazing style. Sigh...!
Thank you Marty, it is this tupe of inspiration that makes me put in the extra hours of standing in front of my amp. I may never "get there", but it is then fun of challenging ones own abilities.
absolutely insane and truly unique guitarist! I probably listened first minute and a half of this video 20 times already and still do not believe to what I'm listening to!
hey me again lol. I actually ended up purchasing this magazine issue to start learning this... unfortunately the place I got it from (pocketMags) doesn't include the video or backing track, just the written tab because it's too old. The link you provided doesn't seem to offer issue gt301 anymore. Do you know if the video and backing track is still available for purchase somewhere?
"If you do something twice, then it sounds like a theme, if you do something three times, it sounds like a motif" - sage words from sensei Friedman.
Very true, he views instrumental music as songs with his guitar as the main 'voice' of the piece.
best comment yet
Such a great player, so unique. Probably the most harmony-aware player of this genre.
He sure is and was keen to have the harmony interesting so that he could 'sing' over it; a great musician!
That insane bending and juicy vibrato damn
And that Ladies and Gentlemen is the greatest guitarist who ever lived.
And Guthrie ;)
You forgot about Yngwie Malmsteen, by far the very best guitar player who ever lived...!!!
@@colindavis1496 But he don't eat doughnuts though

Tuned farts
Τhis guy has taken guitar playing to another level... top of the tops!

It's not available anywhere other than the issue of Guitar Techniques it came with. I'll see if I can upload it on YT at some point.
Great wisdom from Marty here.. he plays changes like a Jazz muso ✌️

His picking is just awesome
I wish he was still in Megadeth. Love his playing
He’s very technical but still very musical ❣️

Find out what you're good at and do it, even if it means doing it your own way.

His licks really stand out, the real beauty ! :)
Everybody should know this.
MARTY'S THE MAN😃😮😯😲😌
king of bending
Imho , the whole music history should be devided into two; before and after electric guitar bends.
Really great video! Thanks for the upload!
LOVE IT!
:22 - :35 is phrasing heaven.
Marty's pick hand i so unique.
I wish there was a book of legendary guitarists hands. Just hands left and right 😸
That could make for an interesting coffee table book!
😘
0:25 Nice use of dissonance.
Good
Thanks for watching Nanto!
@@jasonsidwell Hi Jason you have composed a beautiful rhythm which Marty has shined on, any chance of the backing track being available?

Hi Junk Bond Trader. Sadly, the issue isn't available as a print option anymore unless you search on eBay or similar place. Email me though.
The KOBUSHI metal !!
sounds like brian may pretty much
Sounds influenced by Coltrane and JBeck.
Nice observations!
I hear more Uli Roth and Brian May...
