In this interview, Shankar talks in detail about his blockbuster project Anniyan which had Vikram lead role.Anniyan was an action thriller film written and directed by S. Shankar and produced by V. Ravichandran of Aascar Films. The Dialogue was written by Sujatha.The plot centres on a disillusioned everyman whose frustration at what he sees as increasing social apathy and public negligence leads to a split personality that attempts to right the system. Vikram stars as Ambi, an idealistic, law-abiding lawyer who has multiple personality disorder and develops two other identities: a metrosexual fashion model named Remo, and a murderous vigilante named Anniyan. Sadha plays his love interest,Nandini. Actors Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Prakash Raj, and Nassar also feature in the film.

One word, Legend. Most movies from this gentleman have shaped me along the way. I still do cry every time Kamal asks his wife being in the hospital as how he was the reason for Kasturi's demise. I still think what is right and what's wrong in that particular situation and why would someone like him chose to not bribe though his daughter is dying at the hospital.
In the movie, Anniyan, I do feel bad and equally sad when Ambi pours water on himself crying "indha logaluthula yaarum manidhabhimaaname ila.. "
