It does suck, but I don’t blame NL. I never knew about the outside ones being more dangerous until I read it in a comment. After already playing 400 hours of this game.
at 15:35 i can't believe he popped his energy potion instead of thorns when he knew he wasn't ever getting more potions thanks to sozu. Thorns is situationally useful and is perfect against birds, whereas the energy potion could allow getting demon form out without taking a huge hit later on in a more important fight
Dead branch at the end saved the run. He pretty much had an uphill battle but pulled it out. I was yelling at my screen for him to use the shop the last few floors. Unreal.
It doesnt have to be a win video also there is nothing to be mad about most of us die midway to the spire its just for some magical reason the way our brain is wired we only remember the good runs XD not the ones where we make bad choices
I'm currently stuck on Ascension 9 as the Ironclad (my last run only won thanks to an early Peace Pipe letting me shrink my deck, then an Apothesis in the shop, + getting Fusion Hammer from the first boss), could use some advice for getting through the 1st Floor more reliably while still fighting enough Elites to have a run that can beat the boss
First act keep in mind the 3 elite types when picking cards. Don't try to fit in a build early. They fall off after but heavy hitting cards like perfected strike or carnage can get you through the first act.
Agree with the other commenter, taking a big attack like Carnage can save you a lot of HP against the Elites. It's especially crucial for Gremlin Nob. Lagavulin as well, but you can also get away with a good scaling card. Rampage is actually alright against Lagavulin, it's not really great long term but you gotta use what you're given. 0 cost attacks like Reckless Charge and Anger are nice too so that you can occasionally block a bit while keeping your damage output up. For Sentries, an Evolve, Feel No Pain, or Fire Breathing will make the fight much, much easier. I'm especially happy to see Evolve or Fire Breathing early on if the Act 1 boss is Slime Boss, Evolve is decent against Hexaghost too (can be scary if you have no block though since you might just draw more burns). Anger is nice as well to offset the status pollution a bit on those fights. In general you want to pick mainly attacks in act 1 but adding one or two powers that have an immediate payoff can be good. And add a bit of block (and draw) later on in the act if you have to fight Guardian. Also remember that your next elite will never be the last one you fought; if you just fought Gremlin Nob, you'll have Lagavulin or Sentries next; if it's Sentries, you'll have Lagavulin or Gremlin Nob for your third fight, and so on. That can be very relevant when picking a card right before an Elite.
Totaly agree with other commenters and would just add that typically, getting good frontload damage such as carnage (or even mid things like twin strike) can do a lot for you as far as getting through act 1 as the iron clad.
Above commentors are correct but a lot has to do with playing fights better. Most of the easy pool fights have been “solved”, so learning how to fight them while taking minimum damage will set you up to take riskier pathings to be better long term. Also the lower you health goes the more valuable it is.

Type A chatters all around the world have developed insomnia from NL's addiction to making "mature decisions."
The decisions you make when you've grown old aren't the decisions you make when you've grown up.
