I like to Canoe on wide rivers but have a hard time coming back up stream in the canoe, thought I'd try a trolling motor to see if it will help. Some of my favorite tools: www.amazon.com...
@@JustinAzeiMusic I made a pwm control box that I keep in front of me in the stern seat. It controls speed and fwd/rev. It’s a lot more comfortable steering with the paddle.
What Surprise!! The Items arrived on time!! able to read and able to get those items ready for when I try them, when I go to the ocean, and see what are there abilities, thank you for this Items..
Awesome ! Thanks for posting I have a c2 in a 40, the max with its claims of 5x better battery is appealing, what sort of battery life are you seeing at full speed up river in hours ? Thanks
Brocraft outriggers, make another mount like the motor mount, then add the outriggers, my 17 foot aluminium canoe is solid as a rock with those, adds a tiny bit of drag but well worth it.
Nice . More time to fish. If not aware the motor should really be turned around, ( bracket ). Release the locking feature, then if you hit something the motor will flip up. Hopefully preventing you from flipping.
Nice. That's a 45lb motor? Do you find it powerful enough? I'm about to do a similar setup but for a 17ft rowboat. I'm wondering whether to go up to 55lb or if that'd just be overkill? I'd also like to hear about the amp hours of your battery and how much time your getting on the motor with it.
I'd go with the 55lb, no one has ever complained about too much power. Also the battery does quickly going against the current, I have a second battery now. I changed them out. During the trip
So I want to do this - primarily for fishing - how do you rate the stability of the canoe in general when going all out with that motor? Would you recommend?
What I do is lock the motor in position and steer with the paddle.
Great idea, I'll try that this weekend.
And why

@@Canadarago sounds like a good way to go

It's a nice little motor
I was this stoked too when i set my trolling motor up!
Nice! I bought one today, looking forward to using it.

Very good idea
What happens if you hit a snag? I'd like to see the motor release and swing up, but that doesn't look possible.
I actually have it mounted backwards in this video. Since then I have used it lots and it does swing up fine
I know this is an older video. Hope you still read comments. Anyway just wondered what type or name life jacket were you wearing?
It was a Lotus life jacket but I think they went out of business. It is for white water rafting
Are you on the Sacramento River?
Would you still suggest the 45? Or would you go with the 55 option (still 12v and 36")
I would probably go bigger if I did it again

Steve Jones absolutely, figured it out when I got off the river.
Were you running the motor in reverse to go forward or were you able to move the handle backwards?
I was able to get it to rotate well. I have since reversed the mounting and it works well
@@ColfaxMath thanks!!!
I think I know exactly where you filmed this fished/launched there many times thanks
It's a nice place
How long does the battery last?
Maybe couple hours, I wouldn't get rid of your paddle

@@ColfaxMath How long did one battery usually last?
Have you tested battery life on this model?
I have a regular canoe trip and it lasts about 80 percent of the trip, when it runs out, I paddle
@@ColfaxMath How long, time wise, may I ask?
You had the motor on right the first time , why did you put it on backwards when you got on the water , smh not good
Ok
No comment on that 😅
No comment on the non comment
That mount looks very unstable
It's been working well so far, now that you mention it, I might beef it up
ColfaxMath I’m looking to build one as well and I see different people’s designs. I like the pool noodle idea.
Ensure max 55 clamped on side I can do 4-5 mph 15ft canoe

Yes, i like it slot and just as stable
PUT THE BATTERY ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CANOE AND IT BALANCES OUT PERFECTLY. I CAN STAND ON MINE ALL DAY
Install one on each side haha
That would be cool but hard to steer
@@ColfaxMath that’s true
