Good morning dear friends,
Well, it's that time. We have come to the end of the first phase of our renovation. No, we are not completely finished with all the finer details, but for the most part, we are done with the biggest, most important parts of this stage. We are taking a break before embarking on the next stage.
Rooms we still need to complete now are the main bedroom, the guest bathroom, the laundry, and the study. The study will unfortunately not be able to be completed until the phase 2 is done. Johann will share my office space with me, until such time as when the conservatory has been built. This is not ideal for either of us, as the space is small, but it is what it is, and we need to man up and cope.

Everything looks beautiful. Your husband and the other men did so much hard work. I do have one question though. Why would you put your shoes next to the toilet? If a man uses that toilet your shoes will get sprayed occasionally. I know because I clean houses for a job. Also do you feel comfortable in your new house and town without your husband there for the week?

Thanks Denise. The team worked really hard to get so much done in such a short time span. I am hugely grateful. The shoes next to the loo isn't ideal. I did have them in my bedroom but they looked out of place. I have too many shoes. My hubby uses the guest loo so it hasn't posed a problem. It might change when we actually move into the main bedroom. Hubby has been going away ever since we got married. I am used to being alone. However, my eldest is currently staying with me, as she and hubby begin a Van renovation soon, and she is renting out her homes for income at the moment. I do love my 'me-time' though. Not sure if you're asking because we live in South Africa. This area we've moved to, is relatively safe. We do have a high crime rate in South Africa, but on a scale on 1-10, this place rates a 9 for safe places to live in SA. I haven't felt unsafe at all. And we don't yet have burglar proofing. That says a lot.

@@TheMidlifeGallivanters Really not asking because it is South Africa but because it is new and I am always a little nervous when my husband goes out of town though I do love being alone for parts of every day. I’m glad your daughter gets to stay and visit.
