  • It's Shrove Tuesday and the village of Olney in Buckinghamshire celebrates it with their very own pancake day race.
The race is open to females only, who are over 18 and that have been residents in the area for at least 3 months.
The traditional event, which extends to 1245 feet and lasts for a little over 60 seconds, has supposedly been in existence for over 550 years having first taken place after the year 1445.
Talk Today's Nick Ellerby visited the village and spoke to the 2023 champion Eloise Kramer about taking part, to explain the rules and get some tips on what makes a good 'flipper' before 'taking the pan' himself.
