    2 Sundown X12's in the trunk
    Taramps MD12k 0.5 ohm Edition
    Sundown SFB 500.4D for Mids/Highs
    Deaf Bonce/Alphard Arnolds in the rear, Deaf Bonce/Alphard Sylvester's in the front.
    250A CES Alternator with a 14.8v Regulator.
    45aH Limitless Lithium Battery, 55AH AGM up front (being replaced because of corrosion)
    Box is 3.97 cu. ft net tuned at 31Hz (33L x 15H x 28D), built by CustomLowZ.
    The system has been removed from the car, it's been a good run, but it's done too much damage, and it's just too much to worry about, it's killed my fuel pump leaving me stranded on the interstate, so I'm not really bout it anymore in this car lol. I'll eventually buy some beater to do a bigger build in, but i'm done with "big bass" in my daily.

      the dimples on the surround can cause the coil to misalign and scrape the insides of the gap on the process, which is not very good, but i very much doubt the surrounds will be damaged solely by the movement. the weakest link here is the glue between the surround itself and the speaker cone.

    Does having the 14.8 regulator on the alternator give you a check engine light? I have same car as you and i have a brand x alternator waiting to be installed that has a 14.8 regulator on it.

    • @GuitarHeroGage
      @GuitarHeroGage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope, although I get worried about the charging sometimes. When it gets SUPER cold it damn near hits 16V, which gets a little scary for me (I also got my regulator and harness from Singer, so Brand X could be different). I'm debating on moving back to 13.8 with the OEM adapter just because i'm not sure if my new system I plan on doing will send the amps into protect or not. Technically the car can handle up to 24v before stuff blows up, but I don't want to chance anything. If you get cold winters, check the voltage often to see what it's doing.

    Hey hey hey, i have a question, if you face subs in the cabin, do you have to reverse phase too? Or just leave the phase alone like how you'd have it facing the trunk?

    • @GuitarHeroGage
      @GuitarHeroGage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't, I've only ever seen people reverse the phase when they are inverted or have 2 separate amps. But you can try both and see which one is louder, that will tell you if its correct or not. But im assuming just always keep them in regular phase, it shouldn't matter which way the box is facing.

    • @mctapout187
      @mctapout187 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats what i was thinking it shouldnt matter which way the box is facing, just keep the phase the same..only if you invert subs. But i will try and see if it makes a difference, thanks yo! Btw nice setup!!

      For the limitless blue batteries (LiFePo4) you can run an AGM with it, so i just wired them together. But if you're running LTO you cannot, so make sure you know the chemistry you're getting. I got confirmation from Limitless themselves saying that its fine to run the blues with AGM's.

      You can run certain chemistries with AGM. It's technically not recommended, but they do work. Limitless blue's work from what I've been told by Limitless. Their Cyber series was meant to be ran with AGM's. But the Limitless gorilla (LTO) will not work. I'd just check with the manufacturer and see what they say.

    Hi friend which alternator brand do you recommend me for same Corolla?

    • @GuitarHeroGage
      @GuitarHeroGage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In terms of amp ratings, 250A or less for sure. 250A bogs my engine RPM's down sometimes though when i'm at a complete stop drawing some power, not sure how under 200A does with the RPM's though, we have pretty weak cars.
      I got my alt from CES (custom electric service), I'm not sure if they are still around as much, but Brand X, Apex, Iragi, Singer, Mech Man, they all make good alternators. Jonathan at Brand X built my alternator while he was at CES and it's fine. Brand X seems to be the biggest one right now, so maybe look into Brand X. Jonathan has always been nice and answered my questions, but that was when they first started, so they may be swamped now and not have much time for all that.
      Also finding the right serpentine belt is a nightmare, I've ran through a few so far and can't seem to find one that works well. I'm using a 475K6 with the tensioner maxed all the way, and I still see the belt flapping when I start the car. I think 470K6 is the answer, but I've burned through one of those too, still messing with it currently to this day.

    • @GuitarHeroGage

      @@fidelperez5257 Definitely not, those are LTO cells, they need high voltage charging. At least 14.8V minimum, the stock voltage is 13.8V, id say you'd have to get a 250A @ 14.8V alternator minimum, but I'd ask an alternator place about that, you may need an even higher amp alt to keep up with LTO.

      @@David-wg5ce When you tune your amp, you use a 40hz tone, depending on the music you listen to, you can use a quieter 40hz tone to tune with to make it louder. You have to be very careful on what you pick though, typically there's 0db (safest), -3db, -5db, -7.5db, -10db. If you listen to normal music (no bass boosted or modified) then -5 to -10 would be fine. If you listen to bass boosted or modified music, you need to go 0 to -7.5db DJ Russticals always uses -7.5db, but there are other DJ's that go way higher than that, so its a pretty big risk. I found -3 to be a good middle ground for modified music (except for youtube bass boosted music, that shit will clip regardless). It essentially it beings the clipping level down further so you can amplify it more, but if you dont inspect the music you're playing, you won't know if its clipping or not sometimes. EXO does a pretty good job in this video of explaining it as well: th-cam.com/video/fx2INydXxnQ/w-d-xo.html

    • @GuitarHeroGage
      @GuitarHeroGage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They aren't getting 6K RMS, i'd say they are probably getting 4k or so. You can run a 6K on 1, with rise you won't actually be getting 6K RMS out of it, unless you run it at .5 ohm or lower. But you still need to be careful, I've heard Sundown say not to put over 3K RMS into them.
