Tower of Power, one of the best bands in history. Saw their latest version of the band about 6 or 7 years ago at a 1,000 seat venue near us. They brought in some super special guests to sit in and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. The venue had the energy that felt more like 10,000 people. What a great night. Thamks JB.
i got to play with bruce and rocco. bruce was playing a black les paul he had already worn through the front of the pickguard. one rehearsal and a gig. both wonderful humans.
Great tribute to one of the best unsung heroes of guitar. I understand your focus, and it's very cool for a guitar champion like you to acknowledge Conte. I loved Conte's more jazzy solo styles that I have not heard elsewhere, and his rhythms that to me were funkier than anyone I have heard (including the wonderful JB bands and all of the great soul and funk bands from 60's to 70's through today). Most of Conte's solos were far different than prevailing rock or R&B guitar solos, which often sound somewhat similar to me. Yes, TOP should be in R&R Hall of Fame!. Unique super funk that has never been surpassed, perhaps occasionally equaled.
I had a Harley Benton SG where the bridge pick up went out and I was only playing on the neck not a big deal now I got a Harley Betten thin line semi hollow body where the bridge pick up went out. I hate dealing with semi hollow bodies, I can do all the work on it, but I just don’t want to
